Body weight exercises

Hi,

I am new to this forum but I have started my weight loss journey two months ago. In the beginning I was with a friend and we both hit the gym. He left the gym from this month so do I.

From this month I am trying body weight exercises, but I need suggestions. Because I haven't seen much information regarding body weight training exercises on the Internet. If anyone of you into body weight exercises, please guide me a little bit. I have been doing these couple of exercises

wide grip push ups 6 reps, 3 sets
diamond shaped push ups 3 reps, 2 sets (This is little tough)
squats 12 reps, 3 sets
crunches 6 reps, 2 sets

I want to do pull ups but there is no equipment available on which I can do it. So any suggestions on it?
What other exercises I am missing and I must do them, if any?

Thanks and sorry for the bad English

I tend to do bodyweight workouts in classes or videos since it leads to more variety and I can focus more on perfecting my form / knocking out the workout rather than figuring out what I'm going to do.

I highly recommend checking out Youtube (BeFit or RealFitTv are great channels) or FitnessBlender.com for some great workouts -- or at least a source of inspiration!

Use you tube and search on burpees. You should find a few videos that help.
    eg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixNkUn-9tpM. Good luck

  • FitnessBlender on YouTube has some good body weight routines. I've used them a few times, and man...they burn! Lol.

Thank you, I will check out those channels and site for workouts.

Actually I was looking for some senior advice about bodyweight exercises. What should I do to complete my workout routine. Like I mentioned my workout routine and I think I'm missing the lower body exercises calves, back exercises, shoulders and neck. I need a complete body workout routine, of course without using any bars because I haven't got one.

My plan is also to get into bodyweight training.
Look for a book called "Convict Conditioning". All bodyweight exercises.

A ton of good Convict Conditioning videos on youtube. There are inexpensive pull up bars that attach to a door frame temporarily (or permanently): .... http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_7?url=search-alias=sporting&field-keywords=pullup bar&sprefix=pullup+,garden,188

Sorry I can't help with specific exercises, I haven't been able to kick my *kitten* into gear (I pretty much hate working out).

Convict conditioning is great. Inverted row where you squat is my go to instead of pull ups. It i a progression to it

Find something you can hang from. A bar, a branch or anything. Forget crunches. Do planks, hollow body holds, hanging knee raises and L-sits. Also do bridge work progressions.

I'm not sure whether you have to join the group, but there's a good list of resources on that thread.

Maybe try the book You Are Your Own Gym, The Bible of Bodyweight Exercises by Mark Lauren. There's descriptions, pictures and routines all spelled out.

i invested in a TRX and you can do 1000's of body weight exercises on it, including pullups, and intense ab stuff, and just about everything you can think of.
