Body weight exercises

Hi,

I am new to this forum but I have started my weight loss journey two months ago. In the beginning I was with a friend and we both hit the gym. He left the gym from this month so do I.

From this month I am trying body weight exercises, but I need suggestions. Because I haven't seen much information regarding body weight training exercises on the Internet. If anyone of you into body weight exercises, please guide me a little bit. I have been doing these couple of exercises

wide grip push ups 6 reps, 3 sets
diamond shaped push ups 3 reps, 2 sets (This is little tough)
squats 12 reps, 3 sets
crunches 6 reps, 2 sets

I want to do pull ups but there is no equipment available on which I can do it. So any suggestions on it?
What other exercises I am missing and I must do them, if any?

    I tend to do bodyweight workouts in classes or videos since it leads to more variety and I can focus more on perfecting my form / knocking out the workout rather than figuring out what I'm going to do.

    I highly recommend checking out Youtube (BeFit or RealFitTv are great channels) or FitnessBlender.com for some great workouts -- or at least a source of inspiration!

    Use you tube and search on burpees. You should find a few videos that help.

  • FitnessBlender on YouTube has some good body weight routines. I've used them a few times, and man...they burn! Lol.

    Thank you, I will check out those channels and site for workouts.

    Actually I was looking for some senior advice about bodyweight exercises. What should I do to complete my workout routine. Like I mentioned my workout routine and I think I'm missing the lower body exercises calves, back exercises, shoulders and neck. I need a complete body workout routine, of course without using any bars because I haven't got one.

    My plan is also to get into bodyweight training.
    Look for a book called "Convict Conditioning". All bodyweight exercises.

    Sorry I can't help with specific exercises, I haven't been able to kick my *kitten* into gear (I pretty much hate working out).

    Convict conditioning is great. Inverted row where you squat is my go to instead of pull ups. It i a progression to it

    Find something you can hang from. A bar, a branch or anything. Forget crunches. Do planks, hollow body holds, hanging knee raises and L-sits. Also do bridge work progressions.

    Maybe try the book You Are Your Own Gym, The Bible of Bodyweight Exercises by Mark Lauren. There's descriptions, pictures and routines all spelled out.

    i invested in a TRX and you can do 1000's of body weight exercises on it, including pullups, and intense ab stuff, and just about everything you can think of.
