sugar intake too high from fruit?

Hey everyone, I know there have been previous posts about natural sugar vs added but I hope it's ok to ask another one! I'm vegan and try to avoid eating any processed food, myfitness pal puts my sugar limit at 67g per day, and I'm usually a gram or two over everyday, mostly from my breakfast fruit smoothie. Is this really bad? I was shocked to read that our daily intake of sugar should be around 25g! I'm losing weight fine, work out 2+ hours per day (martial arts) and had 100% perfect blood test results just last week, including blood sugars. So I guess I'm asking, if I should be worried that my sugar intake is more than twice the recommended daily allowance?

No that is not bad at all.0

My doctor told me I can eat all the fruit I want, so I pay zero attention to the MFP sugar thing and the fitness gurus who caution against it.
Fruit is good.
You should, of course, check with your doctor about what kind of foods you should and shouldn't be eating. What is right for you may be different than what is right for others.0 -
The Guideline Daily Allowance of sugar in the UK is 90g, so it sounds like you're still well below that. Although I have heard the guidelines should be updated based on more recent research and that 45g is better.
If you're not eating loads of added sugar (in biscuits, yoghurts, desserts, etc.) I wouldn't worry too much.0 -
Thanks everyone, that's put my mind at rest! This article I read also said anything above 25g would cause a lot of tooth decay, but I'm 30 and don't have any fillings so I guess I should have been skeptical! I might try and use fruits with a lower sugar content some days in the week anyway just in case.0
