Eatig throughout the day

Hello everyone,
I was told it's good to eat three meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and two snacks inbetween to help with weight loss. My problem is that I am just not that hungry to eat that much. So even though it may be grapes or something for my snack I feel like I'm eating too much. I was also told though that not eating enough throughout the day would put your body in starvation mode. Can anyone speak on this. I realistically can eat twice a day and be fine. But I don't want it to impact my weight loss though. Thanks in advanced!

If you're not hungry, don't eat. (Except if you're eating too few calories, like proper starvation too few calories) At the end of the day all that matters is calories in and calories out. The danger of eating less than 3 meals a day is that you might overeat on your last meal, because you might be really hungry. If you track the calories, I don't believe that will happen. I reckon you should be fine.0

You aren't going to go into starvation mode in a few hours. I have been told this, too. If I am not hungry I don't eat.0

Meisvogel,
Thanks for the advice. Usually I don't even eat dinner because by the time I get around to it I'm not really hungry and it's late at night. A couple years ago I only ate 1 meal a day (I know I know, not good) and I was told my body will go into starvation mode and I won't lose weight ( I ended up losing 20 lbs). So I don't want to repeat that because I know it's not healthy, I just want to make sure eating fewer calories than recommended (mine is 1200/day) that I'll be okay.0 -
I think 3 meals a day is such an old standard. I just eat whenever I'm hungry or when it's convenient. As long as I'm hitting my macros everything will fall into place. Don't feel like you can't eat at 2pm because you've had "breakfast" and "lunch", stay within your caloric goal and everything will be fine. I'd cry if I only ate 3 times per day.0

You need to eat the recommended calories of 1200.0 -
Yeah you need to eat at least 1200... more if you exercise. When you eat them really doesn't matter though.0
