My church choir goes to eat at Carrabba's once a month after choir practice. I generally get one cup of soup and one glass of wine, with maybe one or two pieces of bread (depending on what else I've eaten that day) but I can't seem to find much information on their nutritional values - that is SOOOO frustrating!

Any idea on a cup of their tomato basil soup?

  • Use something similar...look up Jason's Deli...they have one listed.

There is actually a good amount of Carrabba's nutrition info out there...here is a link...

    http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/nutrition-calories/food/carrabbas-italian-grill/

I also think they have quite a bit in MyFitnessPal database as well.

When I go there I get wine (duh!), usually Savignon Blanc since that has the least sugar/carbs, a side salad (vinaigrette dressing) and chicken marsala or chicken bryan. Both are reasonable calorie-wise and delicious! The only thing about that place is the salt...its loaded...but once in a while its fine! Enjoy!
  • I found a ton online too but nothing for the soup you get. The sausage lentil soup was 320 and the minestrone was listed at 160 per cup. The small bread loaf is 500 calories. Carrabbas got an F on the Eat This Not That website b/c they dont post their nutritional information. If I go I usually eat really good for the day and work out so I have 800 or so to use. The chicken trio is my fav and is around 1200 calories. Once or twice a year is good for me!
  • That drives me CRAZY when restaurants don't post the info. I almost don't want to eat there because of it.

Houlihans is the same way (at least about a year ago it was....haven't been back since).

I suppose I'll be changing my "regular" since I can't find the soup information for the Tomato Basil. I got the Sicilian Chicken soup because I was able to find information for that. It was still good and I was still able to enjoy myself with a cup of soup, a glass of wine and one slice of bread!

Thanks for the tips - maybe if we all complain enough they will start posting their nutritional info!

Have you tried asking a manager at the restaurant for their nutrition info?

All restaurants with 25 or more locations will have to list nutrition information on their menus starting this March by law. It is the ONLY good thing in ObamaCare.

    ^Nice quip

Anywhoodles, I usually estimate based on what I *think* the amount of ingredients are, and then add on extra to be safe..
