Looking for some assisted will power

I'm 20 years old and I know I'm not that much overweight. I was formerly an all star athlete in high school an got used to that look. When I went to college, I didn't have the time to devote to working out as much as I used to and gained a whopping 50 lbs. I know I don't have that much to lose, but my self confidence has taken a nose dive. I'm looking for someone who can help me stick with my plan instead of stopping it in a few weeks like I've done so many times before.

Hi Stephaniebear...I am in the same boat as you...I am not overweight by a lot, just uncomfortable in my skin. I've been tracking for 40 days, doing everything (almost) right but the extra weight just isn't coming off. I have terrible will power and give in too easily to the indulgences of "not so healthy" choices. I feel your pain...You can do it! Try to stay focused and committed to the plan (I lost 22lbs on here after having my second child) so I know the plan works. You just need to stay diligent and find healthy choices that you love to eat...
Good luck!!0 -
The biggest issue for me personally with giving into temptations is lack of preparing! Be ready for your whole day. Bring healthy snacks, pre log if you like. This helps me stay away from treats. But if I want a treat and it fits into my calories for the day, I am eating it! (That's why I pre-log a lot to see where I have some wiggle room). The minute I don't have my lunch or a healthy snack with me, I have an excuse to go make less healthy choices. Good luck!!0

I love this suggestion. I like to pre-log, too. I've not been doing too well with eating lately.... not bad ... just eating a lot of sugary snacks. I feel like it's progress that now I tend to still eat okay with meals but it's the snacks that get me. I used to just binge everywhere. It's taken years to get there, but I don't even want to binge like that anymore. Sor, for jaynerebecca1, don't despair. This is a journey. You won't get it all in one fell swoop. But, I can say that the longer that I keep trying to stay on the right track, the more my 'lifestyle' comes in line with what I want. I've been off track the last few weeks. The reasons don't matter. But, I talked honestly to a friend about it yesterday, and today I made sure I grabbed some healthy snacks. For me, the caffeine roller-coaster sets me up to crave sugar. So, I also cut out my morning mega-caffeine drink and am opting for an all day sipping on green tea for more regular energy. Good luck to you... you are so worth the effort to take better care of yourself.0

Thank you guys. These are great ideas to use. I especially like the prelogging. I've never thought of that before, but it makes so much sense because I use the lack of lunch as a chance to go out to eat.0

Tracking will be very important. You would think logically that your method would work. However, you'll find that you may end up eating more than if you had lunch and dinner because you are assuming that no matter what you eat, everything will still fit.0 -
Yes! The minute I pre log my lunch and someone asks if I want to go out, I refuse to "unlog" it lol! I either tell them sorry, brought lunch! Or rarley I'll go out to lunch but still eat my prelogged lunch as dinner. It makes a huge difference though, it really feels awful to unlog!0
