Scale Tales

My wife (rydn4h2o) and I are both on MFP. We have both completed 20 days logging. We both work out 6 days a week and have one cheat day. To date she has lost 1 pound and I have lost 2. (I'm really kicking her butt) . We both are doing cardio and strength training. I heard the stories about scales being fickle. I bought another scale. I have heard the stories about don't go by the weight, go by how your clothes fit. They fit the same. I'm not looking for a simple solution because there's not one. The weight came on slowly over time and I think that's the way it's going to leave too. Ok, I've vented, cmon Mr. Scale, throw me a bone tomorrow. Thanks for the ear everyone and good luck with your own weight loss goals

Keep up the work and it will come off! :) Good luck!!
  • I have the same issue, my husband and I have been doing this for 2 weeks. I do cardio he does total gym.
He has lost 4lbs I haven't lost any, but I have noticed a difference in the clothes I wear. It just doesn't help
the stay positive attitude, when the scale doesn't show any movement.

Some times it takes a few weeks for your body to get in the groove. Other people lose lot of pounds in the first few weeks.

    No rhyme or reason.

However, I would keep an eye on your sodium levels. This always affects the scales as you retain water.

But do take a long term view. If you dont lose more weight/inches in the first 5 weeks, then you need to look at what youre eating, portion control, are you logging EVERYTHING, drinking enough water, logging to much exercise, not eating back your exercise cals...........etc

There are quite a few things you can tweek

    Good luck :flowerforyou:
  • I have the same problem. I was getting pretty discouraged after being on here two weeks without a loss. Finally today I am down one pound.
