Once you're out of e habit of eating whatever you please and in the habit of telling yourself "Nope, can't eat it," it all gets much easier. You just stop considering eating the stuff.
Rice cakes are a great substitute when you're craving something crunchy. You can eat two big ones for 60-90 calories, depending on the kind.
Popcorn chips (Special K) are pretty good, too.
But the easiest way to break the bad habits is to just cut all the stuff out for like six weeks, IMO.

I'm no expert, but I believe it's common knowledge that cravings are often a sign of what the body is in need of... sodium? carbs? fats? With no insight to your diet it's hard to say.0

Well first, 8-15 is NOT a huge amount, but perhaps your body is just craving sodium. There are worse snacks to have- 11 chips have what 150 calories. Eat um, log um, move on.0
