Uneven muffintop weight loss

So I've lost some weight recently and now one side of my muffintop is bigger than the other. The right side is bigger and it doesn't make sense because I'm right handed so I would think that I would lose the right side faster. I haven't really been doing many muffintop exercises besides side crunches. I also do planks, leg lifts, jog, jump, stationary bike, and lift. So my question is why am I losing so unevenly? And also what exercises can I do for my muffintops that would target one side over the other so I'm not so uneven. I have engagement pictures in a month and I want my stomach to look as small and normal as possible!

We don't get to choose where it comes from nor do we get to target. Just keep doing what you're doing and I want to say lean left a little. It won't do anything but it made me laugh.
I did not see the part about the pictures. I'd get some shape-wear for that but you have a month and it will probably be gone by then. You've already lost 15 pounds, so you're on the right track.3 -
This is definitely a new topic.
I don't think handedness has anything to do with weight loss. You just have to keep losing until the muffintop goes away.
You don't have one hip higher than the other, do you? Might want to get that checked out.
Swimming is awesome for toning the waist and hips. Seriously awesome.
Tell the photographer about your uneven muffintop and they'll watch for it and may even be able to touch up the pic.
Good luck!1 -
Best bet is that no matter how much you lose in that time, to just buy proper fitting drawers3

Ive had this happen to me too, it's so very weird! The only thing I could think of is that my body likes to store fat more on one side of my body... V.strange. But as I've lost more it's become less and less noticeable. Congratulations on your engagement!0

I had the same issue except it wasn't muffin top...it was on my back...no joke
one side held onto this fat it seemed forever...I continued to lose weight and apparently it's gone now or so I am told by friends...0 -
They could have always been uneven and you're just noticing it.
My left and right sides never matched-- not when I was 300 lbs and not when I was 150 lbs.
One side is straighter than the other, the other is more curved. Same with the outside lining of my thighs. One is straighter than the other, while the other looks more shapely.
If they were truly even before the weight loss, then hopefully getting down to a healthy BF% will do the job.0 -
My Lord thats exactly what my muffin top is doing too! I am right handed, but by golly the left side of my abdomen is noticeably leaner than the right. So strange. I know as my body fat percentage lowers that it will even out.0

Reading this topic today was absolutely hilarious to me. I only recently started noticing there has been more fat loss from the right side of my stomach than the left and found it totally bizarre. (I am right-handed.) While I'm not happy we're lopsided, I am happy to know it's not just my body being completely weird. Thank you!0

You've lost weight, that's what's important. Good job! Your weight will come off how it chooses to come off. Just stay in your calorie deficit and all will even out in the end (pun intended. ).2 -
one side is ALWAYS bigger than the other - hand, foot, boob, whatever. for me its my left side.0

Was totally about to say this. Humans aren't symmetrical. My left side is "fatter" than my right side, I see it mostly on the lower left side of my tummy as a slight skin crease that isn't there any more on the right. It is what it is, nothing I can do about it other than to just keep on keeping on with the weight loss.1 -
My right hand, foot etc is bigger than my left, but my left muffin top has always been bigger, no matter what my size!0

I'm experiencing this! I'm loving it! As I can see noticeable change!! Fat is just melting off of me woooohooo. I think this is pretty normal!0

Lol. Mine too. My left foot, breast, and hip are all slightly bigger than the right. However, my right hand is slightly bigger than my left. Luckily no one would notice but me.0 -
Hi, might be something to get looked at, but only if it's bothering you. I have Hypermobility syndrome and one of my legs is about an inch or so shorter than the other. One of my muffin tops and inner thighs is much bigger than the other. I only say this because a chiropractor said they would even out my back due to me leaning to one side. Soon after, but before I booked the chiropractor my muscular skeletal specialist told me I was wonky for a reason. A lot of people are Hypermobility, but the syndrome is much less common. The chiropractor could have been damaging. Fat burning is unfortunately not area specific so it's not like you can burn fat on one muffin top specifically.4

The problem with searching and posting to/bumping old threads is that then unsuspecting people see it in the recent threads and also reply to it, thinking it is new. Yes, we can all look at the date and see that it's an old thread but it doesn't always occur to us that a thread in the 'Recent Discussions' list has really just been unearthed after 3 years buried. And most of the time, the OP is long gone anyway.2 -

Also if you're using a phone you have to open the thread to see the OP date. I usually start reading immediately without remembering to check the date.0 -
I never check the dates on posts.
Who knows, and old thread could help a new person who has the same question.3 -
Many people are genetically "lopsided" with features on one side a bit larger than those on the other side. OP might have had this all along and only noticed it when she began paying more attention to her body during weight loss.0
