New to MFP - 67lb to go!

Hey..
Um. I hate starting new threads.. I never know what to say.
I'm Lucy. I currently weigh 18st 11lb (last thursday I was over 19st, so I guess its working so far!). I've got two beautiful children, both boys, aged 6 and 2.
I have been bullied my whole life about my weight, and I ballooned after having my children. Now I am at that point where I don't want my kids to be bullied because of my weight, and, despite trying and failing at several diets over the years, am attempting to do something about it.
I am glad I discovered MFP, as it showing me just how many calories were in the junk food I kept munching during the day during boredom. I've made an effort not to snack now, or to limit it to a small snack in an evening, and it's really showing in my calorie count.
I want to be a maximum of 14st, so I have a long way to go yet, though I think with the help of MFP and the support of my friends and family I will get there!

Welcome to MPF and its awesome that you are taking the first step to get to a point where you are happy with yourself. I am always looking for motivational buddies as well. Friend request sent. :-)0

Thanks. I've accepted the request
Motivation is one thing I always struggle with!0 -
So, my workout buddy and I decided to leave out our jog today because its raining, but I still took my boy to nursery and then came home and did the workout I'd normally do with her anyway.
I've already burnt my calorie goal for the day, and I am proud of myself for having the motivation to do that without my workout buddy!0 -
Hello, and welcome
my name is Catrina, and i have just come back last week. I am determined to lose it this time and have been seeking friends to go the journey with....we could support each other if you like?0 -
Any motivation buddy is a good motivation buddy, right
I'm still about 300 calories under the max for the day, without everything I earned back from exercise Day 7, so I am proud I am sticking to this x0 -
The first thing I did too, was take a long hard look at my snacking. Turns out that just by cutting that out, I stopped gaining. Added some exercise, a little less on my plate, and then the losing started. You got this. It won't be as hard as you think0

Welcome! I'll add you as a friend as you can never have too many friends! If you ever need any support feel free to message me!0

Welcome! I'm also a mommy wanting to lose weight. It's fantastic that you're already seeing progress!
I've sent a friend request. Anyone else is free to add me as well. We can do this!0 -
Thanks for all the positive comments guys, helps my motivation a lot!
@Girlwithcurls - I didn't realise how much my snacking monster was getting me down, tbh. I had my first snack in a week this afternoon, and I've found myself checking the calories on things before I decide if I will buy them or not.
@sagefae - love the name, for a start I'm glad that I am seeing progress so soon too, I literally cut out snacking and started exercising more on the same day. The nursery run monday - friday really helps too
@yeahimemma - Hi, Emma Thanks You can always message me too. As I said in an earlier post, any motivation buddy is a good motivation buddy0 -
If every day were like today... You'd weigh 17 st 4 lbs in 5 weeks
Seeing things like this really help, at the end of the day, too Said 17st 5lb yesterday0 -
Wow
Today it said 16st 10lb
200 calories under the max, WITH chocolate and an energy drink, and homemade cottage pie (with LOADS of carrots and peas!)
I'm feeling pretty good, considering I had lunch out, too0 -
If every day were like today... You'd weigh 16 st 12 lbs in 5 weeks
Its gone up today, but I did have some pringles.. Just fancied a little snack I bought myself some "healthy" cookies today, low fat and low calorie, in individually wrapped packs of 2 biscuits 87 calories in 2 biscuits if I remember right!
Either way, I should have at least a couple of pound lost when I weigh myself Monday morning0
