Just wondering if there are any who used to snack more in the past, but snack less so now ?
Myself, I like to snack, but would like to snack less frequently if I could, and curious about anyone who moved from more frequent snacking to less frequent snacking ?

I used to graze, eating mindlessly. I still snack but I think first and make better choices.0

Any tips from you ex-snackers ?
I snack pretty healthily I must say, but there is sometimes a danger of the day becoming one long continuous snack between breakfast and dinner. Even though it is within calories, I'm still wary of snacking so much, as the last time I regained weight it was when the healthy snacking turned into unhealthy snacking, as all those odd chocolate biscuits, occasional ice creams, etc, all added up. In my case, to over 30lbs, lol.
I know some folks swear by three meals a day, and wouldn't mind getting away from a little snacking towards almost eating completely at just mealtimes. As of yet, I remain unsure of how to transition to such a point, lol.0 -
My snacks are 1/4 of my daily caloric intake. They used to be well over half, so that is a vast improvement. Where I once ate a candy bar in the afternoon, I now eat a banana. Life has changed.
I still love a hershey's bliss dark chocolate each afternoon, however. 35 calories each.0 -
I am pretty new at this, but watching the calories in my foods keeps me to just have one of a snack rather than a whole bag. Some people recommend eating 5-6 times/day with small meals and snacks. I tend to eat when I am hungry and have time.0

I snack every single day, and I have no plans on stopping. According to my ticker, it has worked just fine for me.0

Same here!
For me, eating throughout the day stops me from being ravenous come meal time and I don't overeat.0 -
My main trouble was snacking in the evening.
I'd eat great all day - workout for an hour - then decide that I could 'reward' myself by snacking on crap.
I've finally learned - after I workout (around 5:30 pm) - I eat dinner - then I go upstairs - AWAY from the kitchen.
For me it's best to not even be around food/temptation!
It's worked - come this November I'll have been on maintenance for one year.0 -
I snack all day! I just make sure I stay within my calorie range. I find that I'm more satisfied all day if I never let myself get too hungry and I love to eat, so why not have smaller meals and do it more often? My day usually goes as follows...
300 kcal breakfast
200 kcal snack
500 kcal lunch
500 kcal snack (or two 250 kcal snacks)
500 kcal dinner
= 2,000 kcals.
I love eating this way, it's so easy to do and I'm perfectly satisfied.0 -
I was a snacker grazer. Now I have typically one snack in the evening. Since starting on mfp I stopped snacking because to see success I dont think I can. I choose to spend my calories more wisely.0

I used to constantly graze. I never knew when I was hungry. Now I just eat a big meal ay 12pm, smaller meal/filling snack at 4pm. DInner at 7pm then If im hungry later a snack at 8pm. Works great for me and I dont feel like snacking because Im eating proper meals when Im hungry0

I now have protein shake in the evening if I feel the need to have a snack.0

I'm actually going back to snacking. I tried bigger meals... it doesn't work. I still get hungry 3-4 hours later. So more smaller meals it is.0

Did you give the change long ? I've read that it can take your blood sugar a while to adapt to such a change, but I'm looking for as much information as I can before I give it a go, because I know I will probably be hungry between meals at the start, lol0 -

Well, yes and no, because I typically end up starving from blood sugar drops so I can't really stick to it, lol.0
