Getting Started Again

Hi! I'm Jennie!

I am sure there is a thread out there for all the Getting Started Again people so I am sorry if I am duplicating this. I was on MFP 2 years ago and lost 60 pounds. I stopped tracking faithfully and gained back 14. Tracking makes it work. I know that now. I also have a horrible relationship with food that I am working on.

Small NSV for me last night at the end of my "new" day 2: I declined Culver's ice cream! :)

Congratulations on TWO great wins! Getting started again is exactly where I'm at also and it feels good just to get going. Also - turning down Culver's sounds like wonderful commitment! Luckily I haven't had that temptation yet, but I'm only 2 days in.
    Good Luck!
  • Wow! I love Culver's! I'm glad there's not one around here.

    Good for you!

    Welcome back.

i'm sure there are a lot of us re-starting... and honestly, i feel so much better after a good week than i ever did eating all the junk that tastes good that i can't seem to avoid. wanting to eat healthy is a struggle, but as soon as you start seeing the benefits, just keep reminding yourself of how much better you feel!!!!

welcome back, and saying no to ice cream is a HUGE NSV!!!! (i'm a sucker for it too)

    Hey!

I just got back on track too!

Hit a massive plateau for months and I just needed a break. Now I am back in uni for my Masters and I have to be super careful!

Congratulations on your loss and getting back on track :)

Send and accept some friend requests. Give and receive likes and comments. I find each "like" and "Great job!" comment adds a little boost. Add them up and it gets to be significant motivation.

Find one or more challenge groups that appeal to you, join and go for the challenge. If you fail a few times, reassess yourself, it may have been too much to start with so find another challenge. If you think it is within your reach, keep plugging.

Have fun! Eat well! This is for your whole life. Choose exercises that your like and find food that you enjoy ( in smaller portions).
