Frozen vs Fresh?

So i got my self a Nutribullet and i love the smoothies it makes with fresh fruit like strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and spinach and kale added. But its starting to get expensive as fresh fruit aint cheap.
So i thought i would try the frozen versions as its cheaper, but I'm not as keen on the taste, not as rich in flavour.
Now i keep seeing that frozen is better nutrition wise, but since it tastes a lot worse is there much difference. The fact the fresh tastes so much nicer to me would say its got more in?
Any views on the fresh vs frozen?

Fresh! I started eating fresh then went back to frozen and I can't. Just doesn't taste as good as fresh0

Frozen is better for you then fresh? I don't see how that's possible. True, frozen fruits are frozen right after they are picked, so maybe they retain more nutrients weeks old "fresh" fruit, but I don't see how they can be better for you than fruit you get from a farmer's market, which may have been picked right that morning. Even if you get them from a grocery store, depending on the store, the produce can be extremely fresh and not have lost many nutrients at all.
I rarely buy frozen anymore. The only reason I did in the first place was to save money. Fresh just tastes so much better. However, if it's expensive to the point where it's hurting you financially, frozen is a fine substitute.0 -
My opinion from what I've found:
Frozen = more convenient for storage, a hell of a lot cheaper, won't go off if you forget to use them in the few days you have available, but you may need to defrost before use.
Fresh = look nicer in the fridge, more convenient for mixing on the spur of the moment, smell great, some prefer the taste, but can go off/be affected by other strong smells, random mould, bruising etc.
Nutrition-wise, I wouldn't say there's much in it - if you prefer (and can afford) to keep your fridge full of fresh fruit and veg, do it. If you don't really have a preference (or can't really afford it) go for frozen.0 -
For smoothies and stuff, I waaaay prefer frozen. I can't stand a warm-ish smoothie, and if some of the ingredients are frozen, I don't have to worry about watering it down with ice.
I think the benefit to having fresh fruit, for me, is realizing that I need to eat it before it goes bad. It makes me eat healthier, obviously, because I can't just put it in my freezer and forget about it for weeks.0 -

Very good point. Seeing it in the fridge does remind you about it's existence - I thought I'd run out of broccoli the other day, but it turned out I had just lost a bag in the freezer :laugh:0
