Body Fat Weight Scale/ Calorie Estimator

Hey, guys!!! I'm wondering if anyone else uses a body fat weight scale? Mine gives me a daily caloric estimate of around 2,100 calories each day (and as long as I don't go over this number, I should maintain my current weight). However, the calorie estimator calculators that I find online give me much less - usually around 1,500 - 1,600 calories per day. Which one should I trust? And, why does this have to be so complicated? Ugh!!! Thanks a TON for any help.... :)

I don't have a scale that gives a calorie range. I do have one with a body fat estimate. I know it can vary based on hydration level, and don't know that its very accurate. (It tells me I'm 15-16% and think this is really low.) But over time the body fat % has gone down, as I've used this scale for 6+ months. I trust that trend.

Do you mean online calculators tell you 1500-1600 to maintain? Online calculators will take your activity level into consideration, I'm not sure that a scale does. Your activity level can make a big difference. 1500-1600 to maintain seems low though. I'm 5'5.5", 134, 39 years old, female. If I were very sedentary (2000-5000 steps a day, no intentional exercise) I'd burn about 1600-1700 per day. Hitting 12k-15k per day, including exercise, I hit 2000-2100 per day. Just for comparison.

Thanks so much for the help, Staci!!! Yeah, I think you're right.... The 1,500-1,600 is the baseline w/out any exercise. So, I'm pretty sure I'm burning way more than that - especially when I get in those good workouts. I'm pretty happy when I can consume around 2,000 calories each day... So, as long as I keep moving, I'll keep eating! ;)
