do you have to sweat to know you're getting a good workout?

does how much you sweat or don't sweat affect how much toning and calorie burning you're actually doing? i can't get overheated or sweat TOO much due to skin issues that i can't get rid of and i often have to do low impact cardio to try and keep my skin from flaring. like yoga, lots of house cleaning (passes time too), powerwalking, etc etc. do i have to go all out to get a good workout? because i just can't or my skin pays the price and it sucks because it's almost unbearable :/

also if anyone could offer any good low impact workouts that would be great too

Low Impact. Try resistance straps exercises when you are out walking. Or Not. You can use them anywhere.:flowerforyou:
  • The amount of sweat doesn't have anything to do with anything--humidity influences how much sweat you see on your skin. What does matter is how warm your body gets, and how cold it is outside. In general, the warmer it is outside, the more calories you burn.

Ankle and wrist weights are cheap and easy to use during most other activities in the day. Start small, and your endurance will grow over time.

my endurance is pretty fine, i can run a mile or 2 pretty easy. just when my body gets hot i flare up like crazy...
(thanks rosacea and TV lol) really what i meant was if i keep it slow, although it might take me longer to burn more, i'll be fine?

i really do miss getting an intense workout and sweating up a storm but my immune system decided no for me a couple years ago, hahah. i will take the ankle/wrist weights into consideration, along with the resistance straps.

You may also want to consider doing isometric exercises. That's where you tense up and hold a position. Some of them can be extremely difficult. Unless you are in a warm room, you probably won't sweat much. But be sure to warm up first with some easy movements before doing anything very challenging.
