A question about skin

I have a lot of weight I'd like to lose. I was a healthy size 6-8 when I was able to cook on a daily basis. But I gained a lot of weight in the past 4 years due to school/work, travelling and constantly moving. Now that I am able to cook my meals again, I have gone back to eating healthy. I also work out (moderately.) So I have no problem losing the weight.
My question is: can I do certain things during my weight loss that would prevent my skin from sagging? I've read about certain creams with collagen and elastin. Some people suggest getting a massage once a week. Others say getting the skin surgically removed after the weight lost is the only way to go. I believe hydration has a lot to do with it.
But to those of you who have lost a significant amount of weight - do you have any suggestions/advice? Thank in advance for replying to my post.

Avoid rapid weight loss, go at it slowly.
Maintain adequate hydration.
Perform regular resistance training. Though this won't target skin elasticity specifically, resistance training may be effective in preventing loose skin during weight loss. Include two to three days of mild to moderate intensity resistance training each week to build muscle mass, it will help fill out loose skin and decrease the appearance of sagging. Aim for two to three sets of 10 to 15 exercise for best results in building muscle mass.
Follow a healthy diet that is rich in B-vitamins. This will help in maintaining the integrity and elasticity of skin. In most cases, a multivitamin, provides more than enough of the vitamins and minerals needed to maintain good skin.0 -
Last reply is great.
The slower you lose it, the longer your body has to repair it's self. Weight training will help long term. For general appearance I recommend organic coconut oil. It's a multi use product but a couple of times a week i massage it on and it leaves my skin and hair looking great (smells good too!)
Best of luck and try not to concern yourself. Keep the focus on what you can control (water, healthy food, good cardio and weight training), not the outcome. If you treat your body the way it deserves during weight loss it will give you the best results possible.0 -
Thanks, guys! All of this is very useful.0
