If the babies are not being bothered(they're not crying more than usual) then they just might be protecting them and playing with their toys who knows maybe they're baby ghosts

Not to sound weird here but I totally believe in ghosts and spirits. It would FREAK me out if I saw that happen! If your nervous about it I would totally find someone to do a cleansing on it. I think its with a sage brush and a stabbed lemon I am not sure lmao Whatever they need to do though I would let them do it :flowerforyou:

Back in 1996 in my early 20's we moved into a beautiful home overlooking the lake that had been previously owned by an elderly couple who had both passed away, but then, rented out by a doctor. Downstairs in the basement the wife would work on pottery with clay and a lot of stuff was still down there when we moved in. Since we had no furniture yet, my parents and my sister and I would all sleep upstairs in the living room area. At night while we were sleeping, we would hear noises and banging around coming from the basement, it was the creepist thing ever! Heres what we did.....WE MOVED OUT right away!

Not sure what you should do, but if it were me I would probally be a big chicken and move back out! How long have they lived there and how long has it been going on? Some spirits just don't want to leave. If it makes you uncomfortable and you are scared then you should probally come up with another option. I know I couldn't do it. When I hear a noise at night it scares the Hell out of me.

Good luck and congrats on your twins mommie!
  • lol good thought 305... I only let them nap in their during the day but nothing strange seems to happen till night time =/ just a little spooky I guess when I tried to put them to bed in their room once and heard little strange noises on the monitor... they wernt crying, they were fast asleep but I was still so nervous that I took them back to my room =)

If the in laws say the haunting it harmless believe them- most of the time the spirits will watch over children while they sleep. :)
  • @ down... they have lived their for ten years and they say they have only really takena notice to it the past couple years.. they also said the worst thing that has ever really happened is the garage door constantly opens and closes... =/ so if they arnt worried about it I dont know why I am. I suppose im just a big chicken!

It's really your call, but I say that if they're not bothering your babies, leave the babies where they are during nap time.
My aunts house was haunted too. When we went to bed at night we'd hear laughter coming down the hall towards the bedrooms, but nothing more happened.

A few years ago I got a great housesitting gig - 9 months rent free while the family temporarily moved out of the country. I had toured the house prior to moving in, but only once and relatively quickly. It was not until I moved in that I realized there was a full size tombstone (yes, TOMBSTONE!!) in the den. The owner was a big Civil War history buff and one of his relatives was a Major who died during the war. The tombstone was broken at the cemetery and the family replaced it. This guy took the broken tombstone, cemented it back together, and stuck it in his house. Talk about creepy.

Of course, weird stuff started happening as soon as I moved in - fires, floods, music blasting at weird hours, thermostat way up and way down, noises, lights on and off, spoons arranged on the kitchen floor. It was all disturbing and I got almost no sleep for months. One night a friend of a friend came over. She didn't know anything was going on as I (really thought I was going crazy) did not broadcast what was happening. She felt a presence immediately. Turned out her family (Chinese) had a long history of communicating with spirits. She told me I was invading the spirit's space, that it had no idea who I was and what I was doing in the home. In order to fix it I needed to introduce myself, be respectful and give offerings. From then on, I would announce when I was coming or going, fix an extra plate of food, etc. I felt like a complete nutcase but sure enough it worked. We made peace and he stopped trying to scare me.

I feel slightly crazy even writing that story out. Nothing like this has happened to me before or since. Good luck - I know how scary it is!
  • A number of years ago we moved into an ex RAF house here in Lincoln. Things were pretty quiet until we did some building work and that seemed to set off some strange occurrences. I could hear the radio playing when it wasn't plugged in (and had no batteries in it!) Lights would come off and on and a few times the kettle would turn on and boil! Once, I even had this happen when I was away from home - which made me think that whoever it was, they were looking out for me.

I got it into my head that it was my grandma or granddad watching out for me. I also took the "crazy" route. I would walk into the room and notice the light on and would speak to the spirit and say things like "Thanks very much for putting the light on - but I'm able to do that myself when I need it - so please stop" and oddly enough, it would stop for a while. Then start up again!

I did notice that things always became more active when we were doing work in the house - or if there was particular turmoil in the house. I don't know if it's still active. We moved out about 10 years ago - and of course, we didn't tell the new owners! No point scaring them if the spirit was attached to us!

So, my advice - talk to the spirit, tell it that it's spooking you out and ask it if it could stop doing what it's doing! As for worrying about the children - if they're sleeping soundly and not getting upset in the night I wouldn't worry. (BTW my own daughter used to have a spirit visit her in the night - it made her laugh and giggle like you would not believe. No harm came to her )
  • Hi, well i work as an alternative therapist and so often pick up other peoples stuff and occasionally loved ones who have passed on. I would say that if the children arent overly distressed then not to worry - spirit often likes to make itself known. So as others have said go in there and talk, introduce yourself.
However, if you have a sinking feeling in your gut or nausea or anything that doesnt feel right about putting your children in that room, then listen to your body. Obviously you have two choices -
    1. Leave
    2. Cleanse the room - this can be done by buying a sage smudge stick (sold in most holistic shops) and then you light it and blow it out so loads of smoke rises. - Watch our for your smoke detectors going off!
Then the best thing to do is to smudge the whole house, not just that one room, go around the corners of each room and ensure the smoke gets everywhere - while you are smudging you need to say something like 'i ask that all negativity be released from this room' and then open every window in the house to let all the smoke out.
It does smell a bit but smoke is very cleansing for any negative energy that is hanging around. You could also buy a piece of Amethyst - doesnt have to be big - and put it in the room that the kids sleep in. Amethyst is also good for shifting negative stuff - I have a large bit by my front door just to keep the house protected.
Anyway see how you feel - good luck

I think you should have told the new owners. I just bought a house that is haunted. I am TERRIFIED of it, but I can't resell the house. So I got a dog. lol. The spirit stays away most of the time, but I feel so much safer knowing that if it's in the house, my dog will bark and I can go outside lol.

Good spirits dont make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. If something's creeping you out, it's better to be more careful than less.

Cleansing the room, placing a jar with mirror pieces in it on the windowsill, dusting the entrances to the room with a bit of olive oil... all of these things can help.

I have done cleansing rituals for various people, and find that the best way to banish dark is to invoke light. Fighting dark is nothing... you won't win on your own. Invoking light, strengthens you, and the light WANTS to be where you are wanting it to be.

Ok, let me first say....I am a skeptic, not crazy....rational. My parents house is haunted. I was hearing voices, feeling cold spots , furniture moving....etc. We contacted someone and we were told that ghosts are just people. Dead people. Some are good, bad, grouchy....etc. Just like live people. You can talk to them and tell them that something bothers you. My issue was they got too close to me and i could feel them. After i asked them to back off they did. We also prayed because i was terrified. My mom has never had a problem other than the noises. They coexist. I felt better after that, because i was prepared never to set foot in her house again. I know for all you other skeptics how crazy this sounds. i wouldn't believe it if it hadn't happened to me.

I agree with what others have said about the spirits being harmless. Spirits are usually attracted to those who are vulnerable...ie. children. Children see them as people - they don't get freaked out by them so the relationships are usually innocent and friendly.

I have a few spirits in my house. 1 I know by name and talk to him whenever he comes by. The others I dont know but if they get too noisey I go upstairs and talk to them, let them know it's time for sleep and they seem to quiet down.

I don`t believe in ghosts as being disembodied spirits of the dead.
I do believe in the supernatural as relating to beings beyond what we can usually see...that is in a religious sense so won`t get into that here but very possible something is going on.

There are 7,000,000,000 people on this planet. A frightening amount of them will admit to having had a paranormal experience in their life, many saying they've actually seen a ghost or apparition or something of that manner. Ok, so if we have a pretty large sample size (say, in the billions) of people who believe in haunted houses and ghosts and stuff, why can't 1 of them show us an example? Think about it. You grow up hearing ghost stories and haunted houses and native american burial grounds. People who used to live in a house where someone died. Someone was walking through a graveyard and saw a ghost.

Ok ok ok. I know most people believe this stuff, but why can't one single damned person show us? No one can take me to a ghost right now. No one can take me to a haunted house. No one can show me how their candle moved 2 inches overnight. Why? If paranormal events are real, if ghosts are real, if spirits and apparitions really exist, why can't it be proven? Why aren't scientists knee deep in experiments and research parties at haunted houses? Why aren't we spending money on finding out why there's ghosts roaming graveyards? It's because when it's time to put the money where the mouth is, nothing is there. Can someone clear this up?

Maybe there is no evidence.... same as there's no hard evidence for the existence of God, or of the Devil. Perhaps ghosts only show themselves to those who are open to seeing them... perhaps those of Faith have it because they are open to the concept of God and Devil, etc.

I have seen ghosts. The very same that my cousins have seen, as the ghosts live in their home. I have experienced demons and angels. I am open to this side of the universe. But that's just me. I cannot prove it to you any more than you can conclusively prove whatever Faith you may have to me....
