I drink a lot of black coffee. Does caffeine consumption have any affect on weight loss?

Recent studies have indicated that caffeine consumption temporarily speeds metabolism and also abets exercise. So yes, but probably to a very small degree. The most significant ways it can help are if 1. you're drinking black coffee instead of sugary drinks and 2. if it helps you feel like getting up and moving around.0

I put powdered caffeine in my green tea some mornings for a boost. I find that I do not get as hungry on those days as I do on the days without it. Not sure if it's the tea or the caffeine or all in my head. I have read caffeine can lessen hunger but I really just use it as a pick me up.0

For me personally, caffeine will temporarily curb my appetite in the short term, but 2 or 3 hours later it actually makes me far MORE hungry, and also induces nausea if I don't eat or drink more coffee in that same 2-3 hour later time frame.
Obviously i'm not saying "this is what caffeine does to people", i'm just saying this is what it does to me.
I had far more success managing my diet and sticking to my daily calorie goals when I was not drinking regular caffeinated coffee.
I do love coffee though, so I drink decaf all the time, usually at least 2 insulated cups a day (probably around 4 regular size coffee mugs).
Make sure to include the calories in your journal if you take cream and sugar. People are pretty surprised to find that their 2 cream 2 sugar coffee has almost 200 calories!!! If you can't drink it black at least try switching to milk instead of cream.0 -
was a study a long time ago, it said 3 cups of coffee a day for women was beneficial, but didnt do anything for men.
But i have 3 cups a day and it does seem to help a bit, also helps stop me feeling hungry too.0
