Hi everyone, I am new to MFP. I wanted to know how to set my daily calorie target. I am 30 y/o female. 5ft 6in. and weigh 223 lbs. I need to lose 90 lbs. I am a sahm, lighly active through the day. Currently I have been working out 4-5 times/week for about 40-50 mins at moderate intensity. when I started on MFP it gave me a tartget of 1200 cals/day. I found it too restrictive so I increased it to about 1350 cals/day and then to 1600 cals/day. Currently i am eating 1600 cals /day. Then I saw on the forums something about TDEE and BMR. So I went to a recommended website. scoobysworkshop.com and found out that my BMR is 1785 cals and my TDEE is 2765. I also learnt that I should set my limit somewhere in between these two figures. But the problem is I am ok with 1600 cals/day! I rarely feel hungry and am always just below or at my limit. So what should I do? Continue at 1600 cals/day? Increase it? If yes, then to what ? Please help.

I agree, it can be overwhelming, especially at first! That's why that particular post was made because it answers a ton of questions all in the same place.0

all of these numbers are just estimates... how much weight are you losing on 1600 cals? do you weigh and measure everything you eat with scales?
for me, i think you should be aiming to eat as MUCH as you can but still lose weight... so going by your stats, if you can eat 2000 cals and lose a pound a week, why not!?0 -
The link posted above are very helpful.
are you losing at 1600? and if you're happy eating at that then thats fine
some people just find their weight stalling or would like to eat a bit more but are scared to. Knowing our TDEE/BMR really helps in this case.0 -

I joined here only two weeks ago. I have been measuring and tracking everything. And after two weeks I have lost 2.2 lbs.0
