I'm trying to get a six pack by June. I have to lose 60lbs by june and work hard

How many days a week should I check my weight because I checked and I was 228.8 for two days in a row now and i want to lose weight asap.

What work outs should I do?

Should I take classes at the gym?

What if I'm a picky eater and hate fruits and healthy stuff how can I diet while not eating healthy?

Please and thank you

Lots of thoughts on this. You must weigh daily. You can't weigh daily. Once a week. Once a month. Don't weigh, measure ... Everyone has an opinion. If you choose to weigh daily, spend some time to understand the data. Plot a moving average to give you a trend line - the trend line is a more accurate indicator of your weight than the daily fluctuations. And you will see fluctuations. Maybe even up to 5 lbs over a couple days.

    Something like this:

I weigh myself daily, but I understand weight fluctuations and they don't bother me.

You are after two diffeent things.

    1. Weight loss, which you do through the diet and calorie control. The egg doet you had from the other thread was unsustainable and unhealthy. You need to get that fixed.

    2. At the same time you say you wnat a six pack so you will need to go to the gym and do some resistance training or exercise at home.

Look at the sticky thread and i will let others tell you about what sort of routines you will need for a six pack.

I will just answer the two other questions.

    3. How many times you weigh yourself is up to you. weigh yourself at the same time normally in the morning pre breakfast, maybe once a week, forthnight, month. Some people prefer to take measurements instead as that can be a better refelection if you develop muscles for instance. You could weigh the same but your body could be in better shape. If you weigh yourself frequently then be aware your body fluctuates from day to day and that is irrespective of a diet effect, could be water retention and other things. Losing weight will not be linear.

Just seen sullus's graph, that says it all. Dont weigh daily if you cnat deal or fail to comprehend the fluctuations.

    4. can you eat unhealthy stuff on a diet? Yes you can lose weight as long as you consume less calories than you burn. For weight loss it doeant matter even if it is Macds or chocolate.

Should you? Then you should look into nutrution and the benefits of eating healthy or healthier for your diet and your overall wellbeing. Read the stickies.

i weigh myself every day and like it.

it gives me a very clear idea of how fickle scale weight can be, and lets me see what is actually happening... where if i step on once a week or month the daily fluctuations could make me think i am doing better or worse than i actually am.

i do not obsess on the numbers though, and if i did i would switch to weekly. i look at it as if it is just a thing, and not everything.

If you weighed yourself 2 days in a row and were upset that the weight was the same both days, then it sounds like weighing yourself daily is not a good idea for you. You seem very impatient if you want to be losing chunks of weight every day - because this just isn't realistic.

Count your calories, establish your deficit, find exercises you enjoy - walking, running, cycling, classes, weight lifting. Start with the machines at the gym and once you're confident in your muscle's ability, pick up some freeweights. Weigh in every 2 weeks.

You don't hate 100% of fruits and vegetables, so keep trying new vegetables and cooking them different ways until you find a handful of things you like. Put your veggies on a plate with 2-5oz of your favourite carbohydrate and 4oz of your favourite protein, and call it supper.

You got this :) by June you'll be lean and mean!

The whole point of MFP is to track your calories!!! There is a plethora of options in the food database; you can even use your camera to scan a bar code.

Eat what you WANT, whether you want to eat clean or dirty... it's up to you.

Go here, http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/ . With the TDEE , subtract 500 calories from it and eat at this number. You'll lose 1lb a week.

By the sounds of it, checking your weight seems to have a mental toll. Try to keep it to a weekly basis.
What work outs should I do?

    Anything you want
Should I take classes at the gym?
This is really your choice, but some beginner classes might be able to guide you onto the right track nutrition wise (sort of depends on instructors etc) and they can help you fitness wise.
What if I'm a picky eater and hate fruits and healthy stuff how can I diet while not eating healthy?
You can eat whatever you want and still lose weight, as long as you maintain a calorie deficit. As I said previously, use MFP to log your calories.. and use the TDEE calculator!

Goals can be motivating. However, timetables suck. Sorry. Putting an expiration date on a goal is a bad idea. Weight loss will not be linear, it will not conform to a schedule.

As often as you can stand. If seeing the weight fluctuating day in and day out is unnerving. Then daily is out. Weight loss comes in fits and spurts.
What work outs should I do?

A workout that you enjoy is something that can be a lifestyle change. This will help you keep the weight off. For fitness look for cardio and resistance training. Cardio is great for heart health and resistance training "can" help you keep lean muscle. Eating enough protein AND calories are also key to keeping lean muscle.
Should I take classes at the gym?

    If it's something you enjoy.....yes
What if I'm a picky eater and hate fruits and healthy stuff how can I diet while not eating healthy?

Eating healthy while eating at a deficit helps you get the most "bang for your nutrition buck." Because you will be eating less, you need to make calories count. You could lose weight on an all twinkie diet....however You would be hungry all the time. Sugar is not satisfying. Twinkies are low protein...you would lose some lean muscle. Twinkies have little fiber....you would be stopped up.

I try to eat better because I know that when the weight is gone, I will get less food FOREVER. A smaller me needs fewer calories to maintain. I need to change something in my diet, or the weight will come back.

Also, as already said, try not to put a time scale on weight loss - it doesn't always have a clear trend. Weight can increase one week and then decrease by 5lb's the next. It's like a roller coaster.

I read your profile, "I wanna get in shape to find a beautiful girlfriend that isn't fat :/ ",it seems that you think looks are everything - and that you need to be skinny to have a beautiful girlfriend? And it seems you aren't really losing weight for yourself, but for ulterior motives.

Maybe you should assess what you are doing. I'm sorry if this came over as rude or intrusive, it was just a speculation which I hope will help.

If a 6-pack is what you're going for dont weigh yourself at all, and dont set a number to lose... work till you see a 6-pack.

I weigh every day. I like to see all the fluctuations and I don't get obsessed when OMG I'm a lb heavier. I'll weigh throughout the day, too. If you do get obsessed or scared of the scale or whatever, maybe just once a week under the exact same circumstances.

if aesthetics are your goal, then a number on the scale is as useful as tits on a bull.

instead, you should start taking comparison photos... check this out. http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/06/13/60-pounds-overweight-to-6-pack-abs/

I weigh daily, because I want to see. Eat what you normally do, only less. Caloric deficit = weight loss.

To those suggesting not to put a time limit on a goal, I offer my story. Truth is, I honestly don't know what my goal weight should be. The only time I've weighed a normal weight (something under 180 lbs.) was I was passing upwardly through it.

So I do express my goal this way:

    I will:
    - log my food in MFP and do so very closely
    - walk > 30 minutes 3x a week
    - review my logs for motivation and inspiration
    - do this until the end of June 2015 and reevaluate

That's my goal. I've lost 52 lbs in 77 days doing this. I've walked 132 miles doing this, over 80 in the past 4 weeks. I find it useful because good work in these departments will later be reflected on the scale -- sometimes even 2-3 days later.

Maybe in June 2015, I'll have a goal weight correctly figured out, but I honestly don't know if it's going to be 205, 180, something less, or something more. (205 was the lowest I've been as an adult -- another diet got me down to that weight).

    Thanks for listening.
