Pregnancy. Period.

Hi everyone!
I'm on here for some advice. I got a lapband back in 2005 and had lost about 80 pounds. I got down to about 20 pounds of my goal weight and just plateaued there, which was fine. I have maintained my weight for about 5 years now. No matter what I do, I stayed at that weight. So, now I am 36 years old and I am now about 3 months pregnant. There is a large gap between my children. My kids are 18, 12, and 11. I am now pregnant with my LAST child (hubby will be getting a vasectomy) and before I even realized I was pregnant, I gained like 8 pounds. I'm so worried that I am just going to blow up during this pregnancy.
I'm also curious what happens with the lap band with pregnancy... I wonder if I'll need to have it emptied or something? Anyone else have any experience with this?

Interesting question. There has to be someone you could ask, but I can't think of who that might be.0

This is a medical question to ask your Dr, not some yahoos on the interwebs!0

I'm definitely going with asking your doctor, to be sure. I would say, as long as you're getting in enough nourishment for both you AND you growing baby, your lap band shouldn't be an issue.0

PLEASE go to your doctor with this. Your OB should know about the lap band and will be able to tell you how to manage it. Some OBs speciaize in post-bariatric patients. Don't listen to anything anyone may say here, OTHER THAN the advice to go to your doctor.0
