New & Determined

Hello All~ I almost titled this "New & Discouraged"...but decided I would swing toward a more positive note..:) After seeing a recent photo posted of me on FB...buy, a dear friend who MEANT well....I was horrified at how far I have let myself go. So, after some serious self reflection I am determined to turn this boat (okay Big Ol' Boat) around! So, here I stand with a few plans in place...and would love a supportive group of friends here. How do I go about connecting with others to create a support network?
Very Sincerely, Becca

I know what you mean, it's funny we see ourselves everyday looking in the mirror but yet sometimes we don't really see ourselves. The same thing happened to me when I was reviewing a security camera footage and thought! Who is that?? ... Ugh.. its ME!...lol Congratulations in taking your first step. Feel free to add if your looking for friends.

    Hi Becca,

I joined a few days ago and would love more friends! I lost 39 pounds in the last year before joining MFP, and it was a photo that prompted me to start also. My goal is to be fit by my 50th birthday 10 months from now! Let's do this!

I have been a member of MFP for more than a few years, and while I haven't lost too much weight, I have gained a lot of strength and improved my posture. It has helped me enormously to keep the motivation going to get and stay fit and capable. I need to take on the next challenge - to lose weight before I have to start home glucose testing. Multiply the vegetables, minimize the wine and meat and granola bars and anything with too much crust on it. We are what we eat :)
