Best compliments you've received so far?

One of the few minor reasons I want to lose weight is because I've never really been complimented about the way I look before, either by girlfriends or by guys who might be attracted to me. I've had people say I had nice boobs or bum but that was just because I had extra fat on me that made them big.
So last week I went out to socialise friends who I haven't seen much over 3 months, and I noticed 3 girlfriends talking about me. They told me they'd been talking about how "hot" and "fit" I was looking and saying they were all jealous of me.
Then later on I get chatted up by a VERY good looking guy who had had a few drinks and was a bit drunk, and told me he wanted to talk to me because I stood out and complimented my figure quite strongly. Normally, I might consider it a little weird and invasive but because he was very very attractive and we were both a bit drunk I really enjoyed it and was really happy with the attention.
The night ended very well for me (and the guy) and I woke up this morning feeling super confident, sexy and happy with myself.
Got me thinking, it would be nice to hear about people's stories of positive compliments and attention since changing their diet and body???
(If it helps, my body change is that I went from 145 lbs to about 122 lbs now and I've dropped a dress size).

Good for you!
I think one of the best compliments I've received was when I spent the weekend w/my boyfriend and his friends for Rochester Gay Pride weekend (his friend does drag for a living).
We went back to his friend's house and he had a bunch of his coworkers and friends over after one of his shows. We were all chatting and one them was just telling me about his workout routine, then he says, "You have to have really nice legs to do drag and honestly, the way yours look is exactly what I'm aiming for" - and he poked my thigh and commented on how lean/solid it was. I was very, very flattered.
Whenever I get praise about my body, it always has to do w/being skinny (which isn't inherently complimentary, at least not to me) so it's nice when someone notices my muscle definition because it's something I actually worked hard for.0 -
when my husband's coworkers told him, "you're wife is hot" after a company function last year, when i was at my lowest weight, and at the height of my fitness.0

Some friends from out of town seen our picture on facebook and told my husband they thought I was a new wife. Made me feel good!0

From my daughter - "i need to hide my good clothes, you fit into some of them now. Hey!!! That means some of your good stuff fits me too!". I was flattered that she actually though i had good stuff when it came to clothes lol.0

It has been nice occasionally to hear "Wow not very often do I have to put the weight down after a woman on legpress Impressive"
The other was rom someone I admired and knew from distants only saying one day I was motivating him not to give up If I could fight and keep going he shoud too.0 -
When a friend I hadn't seen in approx a year walked right past me in the grocery store and did not recognize me.
Came back a couple minutes later and could not believe it was me. Told me I did not need to lose anymore but she knew I probably wouldn't listen to her.
Weight loss and new hairstyle.0 -

That's hilarious and great.
On a slightly side note, I really don't like when people tell you not to lose anymore, or tell you that you don't need to lose anymore. Sure, they might be trying to be complimentary and say you look good, but I almost find it a little offensive and annoying…I feel like saying "well, I'm not exactly super slim and I want to lose more weight because thats my goal and my body so who are you to tell me what I should do with my body!"0 -
walked in local supermarket at the weekend ..not been in there in ages.. 2 women who I've known for years said to me.. you've lost some weight .. have you got a new woman? .. lol
then proceeded to sniff my aftershave n tell me i smelled nice ..hmmm .. good start to a saturday night out0 -
Yep. I told her 5 more lbs was my goal. hehehe might be 7, who knows. I will decide.
And my hairstyle will be different again, by then.
A whole new person. Love it !0 -
Last weekend at a get together several of my boyfriends male friends told me how good I looked. It made me feel good especially from males, because I feel like they are either less likely to notice or less likely to comment (or maybe its just the ones I know.) I also appreciated that a couple not only told me I looked good, but acknowledged that they knew it was hard work.0

Agree. I hate that. People tell me that all the time and I'm like "Why? Shut up. You're thinner than me. Am I not allowed to be as thin as you?"0 -
Definitely comments from my bf directly. When I start losing weight, I don't tell him about numbers on the scale, but he always notices it in certain curves of my body. Then I go to the scale and realize I've lost 10 lbs! It's nice to know that he notices and looks at me so closely0

On Thursday my husband said, "I was watching you while you were standing at the counter and was admiring your small butt." :blushing:0

I was working out at the gym and a lady that I hadn't seen before asked me if I was the new trainer. Best feeling ever!0

I've had some great ones, but the most recent wasn't even about my weight or fitness. My hairdresser raved over my hair and said I had gorgeous flowing "mermaid hair". Considering I've wrestled with my hair for the last 11 years to grow it out this long, that was huge! I actually blushed.0

I haven't gotten any in real life yet. Also; I know a lot of ****ty people. So, there's that.
Lol.0 -
This is from about a year and a half ago, but I was doing a Biggest Loser competition and had lost about 42 lbs. My boyfriend's mom told me one day, "My, you're looking svelte!" I was still over 300 lbs, but I knew that I was looking a lot better than I had when we started. Her remark made my day. :happy:0

A couple weeks ago I went out to listen to live music and dance with some friends. I wore a tank top, and over the course of the night I got complimented twice on the muscle definition in my shoulders. The compliments came from a couple of strangers, who happened to both be young, very fit women. I think that is why I felt so good about it. Because when a woman you don't even know takes the time to say something about your fitness, they are usually not motivated by the desire to build up a friend's confidence, or trying to pick you up. They are just acknowledging the hard work it takes to look that way.0

I hadn't seen my mom in several months, and she told me I'm looking positively skinny
My trainer is a 21 yo bodybuilder. I am an almost 40, obese mom of 3. Just yesterday he told me I looked good in my new workout pants. We also had a conversation about Megan Trainor's "All About that Bass" and how it was about body acceptance, not about hating on skinny girls. How Marilyn Monroe allegedly was a size 12-16, and she was a sex icon. I told him I'm OK not being back in my size 6 before kids ...and he says "and you're a beautiful lady"0 -
One of the regular guys who does a lot of lifting at my gym told me I should compete (powerlifting). That made my day.0

Marilyn Monroe was a lifter too!0 -

Same thing happened to me a few weeks back. I was walking around the indoor track at my gym to warm up before I started lifting and a gentleman asked me if I was participating in the Strongman contest they were holding later that day. I told him no and he said that's too bad and he told me if I ever did one, I would do really awesome in it.0 -
A couple of times this work season I have had customers tell me that I looked 'tough' or 'strong'...
and in my head, I'm like,
'hell, ya!'0 -
My sister-in-law told me I looked strong. "You were thin before but not...strong like now. I hope you know what I mean! You look good!"0

I just had a nice one at church today. I was wearing a high-waisted belted skirt, and someone said that I look like I'm getting tinier and tinier. My waist is getting a lot smaller, although I haven't lost that much. Maybe it's time for some new selfies.0

I went to a clients recently that I hadn't seen since I started my diet, I walked in to the office and their jaws just dropped! It was amazing, they were asking all these questions about how I did it and if I had the girls lining up for me now and that I must've known there was a handsome guy underneath all that fat, was great!0

I've lost 60 lbs since February of this year...so great to be below 200 lbs. A counselor at work refers to me as "the incredible shrinking woman" I get quite a kick out of that.0
