Raise your hand if you work in medical fields!

What do you do? What shift? Do you enjoy your job? Degree?

I'm a RN at Craig hospital for brain and spinal trauma. Night shift. I love my job almost as much as I love my husband lol. Master in nursing science. I formerly worked at children's hospital as a night shift ER nurse. Before that EMT.

    ^^^^Ignoring Leonidas^^^^ He's just jealous

ER Nurse...worked almost every unit/specialty though and like the ability to float when I want to and have the diversity to do so gives me job security. Going on over 14 years now, I've worked both nights and days...but I love my nights and my job. Wouldn't trade it for the world. :-)

Ick!! A good % of my patients are intubated or in coma so I don't get that too much anymore though it does happen at least once a week. But when I worked trauma and as a ER nurse at children's I was almost always covered in bodily fluids lol.

Pediatrics...not my thing..more power to you on that one.

I love ER and I love the OR...oh if people really knew what was said and discussed in the operating rooms of the world...lol
  • I work for a health care company, but I do marketing and graphic design.

I always wanted to do OR but never tried it....maybe in a few years when I'm more experience as a nurse. Pediatrics is tough but soo worth it.

  • Lab rat! Started out in pathology, moved in to veterinary (we did the lab work for the vets as well as the theme parks, zoos, and aquariums in the area), then went to clinical (even did my turn on hospital night shift), now I work public health in preparedness testing for all the really bad bugs that the bad guys like to use for attacks.

I work at our local hospital as a supervisor for the department that provides administrative support for Facility Services. Been there 13 years, and love most of it. The facilities people, as well as some of our patient care folks, are my second family.
