Parents of small children? Couch to 5k?

Hey all, I'm looking for friends here on MFP - nothing more motivating than keeping up on the diet and exercise than being able to chat about it on here and share status'!
Anyone want to be friends? I'm 29 and from the UK. I have 2 small children (2.5 year old and 16 month old) and I find this the hardest part of keeping up with everything as I'm so darn tired (my youngest still wakes up in the night and is just, well, a TERRIBLE sleeper!). Would love pals in a similar situation!
I'm also midway through the Couch to 5k program (week 5) and would love to meet others on the same journey. I try to gym 2/3 times a week around the kids and work but... err... realistically this doesn't always happen - ha!.
Please add me if you fancy motivating each other! Thanks

Yeah, I hear you on the kids - it is the toughest part of getting in shape because it feels like they take up all my time. But they are also my biggest motivation to getting healthy. Set a good example and be around for a long time.0

Great way to think about it! Plus I'd love to be more fit so I can loads more with them. They are super motivators for sure!0

My son is older, he's nine. But I just finished day one of week 5 c25k today . I live in the US
My son was a terrible sleeper. I don't think he slept through the night on a regular basis until he was 6! That may be an exaggeration, maybe! It will get better. But you will miss the time when it was only the two of you. You will like the sleep, though. Parenting is hard. I am trying to set a good example for my son by eating healthier and exercising every day. I hope he is learning something.0 -
6! Wow - i hope my daughter sleeps through quicker than that but apparently my brother and I didn't until we started school either - agh! I agree about setting a good example.
Well done on the C25k! I pushed it today and managed a full 30 minutes but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it again in a hurry, I imagine I'm going to ache tomorrow!0 -
My 19 month old sleeps horribly too! I'm so exhausted all the time. I take my workout as a sanity break. I wake up early and get it done before my oldest wakes up. My husband is still home to take care if the little one ( because she is always up!). I don't love working out but it does give me time to myself and I do love how I feel afterwards! Kids make it hard but it's worth it!0

Sanity break - I like it! Feels the same to me sometimes! I'm pretty lucky as my gym has a free creche for 2 hours every morning Monday - Friday (but I work thurs and fris) so I don't *really* have an excuse to not go! It feels quite nice to have 2 hours to myself those mornings, it's just pushing through the tiredness to get down there!0

free child care at the gym? think they would notice if you went to the movies? Ok, seriously, that is a great opportunity to zone out and get your workout done. I'd be all over that, especially if they had a pool0
