wrist issue

Anybody use a wrist wrap for when you do planks, yoga, etc.? Every now and then I end up with my wrist hurting and the only thing I can think of is it happens when I do a lot of planks/things where I hold my body weight up on my arms. I googled and a bunch of diff products came up. Wanted to see if anybody has one they really like and or if they find taping helps?

doing it over and over helps.
It's a matter of conditioning your joints.0 -
Sometimes my wrists hurt when I do push ups. I've found that doing them on my knuckles is much more comfortable because I can keep my wrists straight.0

For some it's impingement and tendinitis in the wrist area. Doing it on knuckles helps. If that's still too hard, then use a pair of dumbells to create space between your knuckles and the floor. And there's always planks on the elbows too.
Just a quick note: being able to do a plank over 1 minute doesn't work on strength, but muscle endurance, so there's no need to do 2-3 minute planks unless muscle endurance is what you're shooting for.

I was just reading an article on wrist pain during push ups: http://reembody.me/2013/10/05/sore-wrists-during-push-ups-lets-fix-that/
I haven't had time to try out his suggestions yet, so I don't know if it would help, but it's probably worth checking out.0 -
When I was new to yoga, my wrists would get very sore. After a while, they got conditioned to holding planks and doing pushups during 90 minute sessions.0

Thanks everyone, I bought yoga gloves with grips on them today hopefully that will help with any slipping. The one workout dvd that I started has a lot of different plank moves on the 2nd level.0

I started using dumbbells to hold onto and that worked awhile, over about one year my wrist would be sensitive to that too. Long story made short: I had tendonitis that also worked into a ganglion cyst in the left wrist (right where the hand bends back towards arm). It's just being 'watched' for now, but draining it may be down the line, we'll see. Point being that it could be something very simple or it may develop into something a bit more inconvenient. Best to not put a lot of stress on it and see it that helps after a couple of months.0
