I am on week 3 and I love it. Every week I think I psych myself out but then I do it. And every week I start to love it a little more. Good luck!

Yay! Me too! Hurrah for beginning runners!

I started c25k last week but didn't do it properly so I'm doing week one again this week - day 1 yesterday. It's the first time I have run, by choice, in my entire life! And I didn't hate it.

    I ran yesterday.
For the first time in a long damn time.
I didn't run very far or very fast or very long.
    But I ran.

I think I'll do it again tomorrow.

    THANK YOU.

This is the mentality I need to have!

Congrats and hopefully keep on running!

Way to go! I started out 4 months ago just walking. Worked up slowly to alternating walking and running. Feels good, doesn't it!

I saw a quote that sums up my running. "I run. I am slower than a herd of turtles in peanut butter, but I RUN!"

And I ran, I ran so far away.
I just ran, I ran all night and day.
    I couldn't get away.

Glad I'm not the first one to have the song immediately pop into my head.

    AWESOME!!!

That was me in April. I ran, and it had been a long time. And honestly, it sucked. But yes, I did it the next day and the next. Several months later (and 25 pounds lighter!) I've shaved more than a minute off my pace and am gearing up to train for a 1/2 marathon in January (my first in several years!).

I love weight training and other forms of exercise, but nothing gives me the same satisfaction as a good, hard run. Enjoy!!

Ive heard about C25K for a long time...

what is the general idea / purpose?

Been treadmilling for a while, thinking about bigger challenges down the road

    thanks
    fsunami

C25K is a training program that will take you from the couch 2 running a 5K. It's a great way to start if you have not been running in a while, or are looking to improve your running. You start our alternating between running and walking, and end up running. If you've been treadmilling for a while, you may be interested in a 10k or half marathon program.

That's really big! The first time is the hardest. That is, just getting started. And you did it! I just started running again too, and I'm doing my second run today. Here's to both of us!
