What are your thoughts on the Isogenix program and how much $/month would I be looking at? What results did you have? Any side effects?

I started Isagenix 2 1/2 weeks ago. I started with the 30 day system. I signed up to get the lower cost. It was $300 for the 30 day supply. For me it was a fair cost. I eat & drink that much in 30 days. So far I've lost 12 lbs and 12 inches (from all over my body). The biggest difference I noticed was my increased energy. I plan on doing the 30 day plan until I come close to my goal weight. Using myfitnesspal was also a great help. It turned out I wasn't getting enough calories the second week so my body went into starvation mode. In the past I've tried WW, JennyCraig, nutrisystem, slimfast and a few others. That said, Isagenix has been working for me.

And I personally have not had any side effects, other than the increased energy.

A big huge no!!!!! I did it for months and as soon as you go back to eat normal food the weight comes back on! I don't care what anyone says from here on in.....eating regular food in the proper amounts and getting good protein, carbs and fats is the way we are meant to feed our bodies. Drinking two shakes a day and adding in all the other stuff they try to make you believe that you need is a waste of money and just not normal. Sorry for the rant but I felt like crap on it and everyone I knw that has done it regained when they stopped. It is not sustainable!

One other note....if I need to add calories in a given day I still drink an isagenix shake once in a while because I still have three containers left. Won't be buying anymore though.

Thank you for the information. I have also tried WW (starved the weight off as I do not eat many veggies).

Do you purchase online? or from a reseller?

Thanks Agentpg...that is good to know. I am tired of yo-yo ing. I thought I could use it to speed up the process but I guess I'm gonna have to stick to the hard way!

    Thanks for the warning!

I did that diet once for free because I worked in a doc office and the woman needs a test person.....it was the WORST thing I ever did, the first part you litterally don't eat for like 3 days, I was soooo mis. with their plan I wanted to give up. When it was finally over I gained everything back and mind you the stuff tasted like garbage and thank god it was free because it was super expensive

Save your money and make healthy food choices!

Calories in less than calories out n you will lose weight...

Everyone is preying on the fact that you will ignore this simple equation, and the hope you do as they take the money from your pocket while your back is turned...

Those people that said you "gain weight after you stop using it" have either never used it, or they didn't fully understand what they were using. Isagenix isn't any voodoo or chemical based product. It's literally just good nutrition in an easy-to-use and easy to consume system. It works because it can fit into people's daily lives very easy, and there's a fantastic support system. If you gained weight after stopping the system, it's because you didn't eat as well. But, that begs the question...if it was working for you, and you felt great on the products, why did you stop them?? Why would you stop doing something that's working? I have a shake every morning, and a healthy lunch and dinner. If I need to lean up or lose a few lbs, I'll switch to shake/food/shake, and do a couple of cleanse days. That way I'm always a week or so out of a 6 pack.

@agentpg1 girl, who wrote "eating regular food in the proper amounts and getting good protein, carbs and fats is the way we are meant to feed our bodies." Isagenix shakes are based on the Zone diet, which is a balanced delivery of protein (the best on the planet) carbs and fat. I said it earlier, but Isagenix is JUST GOOD NUTRITION. Research it. Look at the ingredients. Then you'll realize how many doctors, pro athletes, and fitness competitors choose it.

If you'd like more (and accurate) information, please let me know.

Well funny that after using it for an eight month period....and numerous friends that did the same, all of us wanted to vomit at the site of the ionix supreme, the nasty tasting protein bars and being told that we were supposed to drink the crap all day and not eat normal food while fasting once per week.....ya I guess you could say that it isn't normal and is a huge waste of money! Who the heck wants to drink shakes as a meal replacement for the rest of their lives? I enjoy chewing my food....not drinking it. I found it to be a waste of money and not sustainable!

OP I would take the advice from those two 'posters' with a grain of salt. they have signed up today and their only posts are in this topic. Very suscpious. It's quite common for companies to Google themselves and respond as posters while not disclosing they work for the company involved.

Save your money - below is a copy from a similar post some time ago, where the ingredients list was posted. I have listed the ingredients as described by the company, with a helpful BS-busting translation. In short, it is expensive powdered milk. There is nothing magic about it, if you lost weight while taking it, it's because you are consuming fewer calories.
    Lets see here...

Isapro complex (when (whey??) protein concentrate) = dehydrated milk
calcium caseinate = fortified milk sugar
low heat nonfat dry milk = milk
    fructose = sugar
sunflower oil powder = veg oil
    natural cocoa powder = cocoa/oil
    soy lecithin = thickener
natural flavors = just what it sounds like, prob largely sugars
ionic alfalfa = no idea, but an amusing concept
olive oil powder = veg oil
flax seed, soluble fiber = cellulose/vegetable fiber
guar gum, xanthan gum = thickeners
    sodium chloride = salt
magnesium oxide, tri calcium phosphate, = preservatives/trace elements
    honey powder = sugar
megnesium citrate, potassium citrate = preservatives/trace elements
copper amino acid chelate = no idea - amino acids don't contain copper. A chelator binds and holds another substance (often precipitating it out of solution).

So, essentially you are paying a cr*pload of money for powdered milk with some added fat, fiber and and sugar. If, indeed, everything around you is completely saturated with toxins, I don't think this combo is going to rescue you... Perhaps you could spray your house down with it??

It seems to be the equivalent of making a fruit smoothie and popping a multivitamin. Or, you could have the fruit smoothie and eat a healthy, balanced diet and let your toxin-laden environment do its worst. Also, New Zealand is a lovely place, so you could consider moving there.

BTW, later in that thread someone mentioned that their magic ingredient, "ionic alfalfa" is patented by them and there is no description of what it is actually is on their website. That is because is is pseudoscientific horse****. A plant product might contain some ions, almost on earth that isn't an element contains some ions. Alfalfa is a plant. You cannot ionise a plant.

And beware the undercover reps who post on these threads. The Shakeology ones are particularly bad.

In short - if you want to lost weight, try improving your diet with real food. It is cheaper and longer-term. For most people who are aiming primarily to lose weight, adding in protein drinks, meal replacements, recovery drinks or other assorted supplements is completely unnecessary. For serious athletes or bodybuilders this is not the case, but for most of the people here, any of this stuff is wasted money that should be spent on fruits and vegetables.
  • I only use the shake for a quick meal replacement for dinner AND when I don't have enough calories left for the day. People don't understand that is a meal REPLACEMENT for two meals which ends up being around 1200 calories if you eat one normal meal between 400 and 600 calories. The mistake people make is when they go off of the shakes, the need to ensure they don't go back to high calorie meals. You are right. There is nothing magic about it. It really is just calorie counting with a daily caloric budget. I wouldn't go all gang-busters and buy the entire system when you can do the same thing with nutritious and low-fat food choices.

OK so I did Isa for 8 months (Maintenance for 3 months). I felt great, lots of energy. I particularly loved the Ionix, made me feel good in the morning. I did loose weight, met my goal and my body muscles became more defined. I have been off the program completely for about 1 month. All of my weight has come back and I do feel like crap again... I eat healthy and drink plenty of water. Sooo Not sure about the cost/benefit of this program...

    This.

I posted this in a thread about Isagenix from a few days ago: "Ever notice whenever a fad/scam/dangerous diet plan or supplement thread is started there's suddenly a zillion people with 1 post raving about how great it is? :grumble: "

I tried to do it but the timing was bad, summer and going out a lot:) But I still have one can protein chocolate shake left and I use it sometimes for breakfast, quick and easy. I think you can use it to replace one or two meals but snack and have a healthy meal in between. You can't live on Isagenix for the rest of your life so use it to acquire new healthy eating habits and lose a bit of weight on the way:)

I love it! Honestly. No gimmick. Try it if you want (they offer a 100% money back guarantee), and don't try it if you don't. I have personally signed up 21 people. And no, I didnt try to. People around town noticed I lost weight and asked what I had done. One girl sent it back after 4 days because she had headaches. Not everyone will love this product, but it DOES work. I had another lady on it who was nursing. She couldnt do the complete 30 day system because of this. On the shakes, bars and Want More Energy, she only lost 9 pounds in 27 days. She wasn't satisfied with her results, she sent it back, and her money was refunded. The rest of the people, including myself, have loved it. I was skeptical at first, but I tried it anyway. My first month I lost 27 pounds and 43 inches! I have not gained anything back! And no, I dont always eat healthy and I enjoy a glass of wine nightly...sometimes a beer! I continue with my one shake a day, because I love the vanilla ones blended with fruit for breakfast. I dont do, nor have a done, the back to back cleanse days. They ARE optional and Isagenix tells you a number of ways to do them. A lot of athletes just drink the cleanse after a workout. Some drink it every night before bed. Yes, some do two straight cleanse days in a row, but its not mandatory for it to work. Not trying to sell it, just giving my honest opinion. I cant claim that Isa with solve, help or cure any medical conditions. But I can tell you I have been treated for Migraines for the last 15 years! I have also had to take some sort of sleep aide for Insomnia for the last 11 or 12 years. Ever since starting Isa, I no longer have a problem with either. I have seen specialist after specialist and had to sit through blood tests, MRIs and even had my diet changed on multiple occasions with no success...until Isa. I will agree, the Ionix tastes horrible!!! They say you either love it or hate it. I have still yet to come across anyone who loves it. I do the liquid now instead of the powder. Its concentrated and I can shoot it down. I can definitely tell when I dont take it. As far as reading stuff online. The people who used it and it didnt work, they didnt do it correctly or they didnt use it long enough. The other people are just bashing it because it works and they think they have a better, cheaper way. There is a reason so many Doctors, athletes and Person Trainers use and recommend it. Because it works. People really do have overall health benefits. Many get off of medications they have been on for YEARS! The bottom line it...try it, or dont. But dont listen to what I say vs the next person. Find a nutritional plan that works for you, that you are willing to stick with. You only get one body. You can either be healthy and live longer in it, or you can feed it crap and feel bad every day. Our bodies are perfectly designed machines. If you don't feel great everyday, you're doing something wrong, and something needs to change.

I was doing ok for the first week with it. The shakes kept me full. But the clean eating day where I didn't eat any meals through me into an emotional tailspin that resulted in a 10 pound gain.
I still use the shakes once in a while. They make nice meal replacement in a pinch, but the program itself wasn't right for me.

I'm using this now, and the only issue I have is on training days. I move a lot of weight in a short amount of time such as last night. in 30 minutes I moved over 6,000 pounds. For the first time ever, I ended up dizzy and my head felt fuzzy. I talked to my Isagenix coach, and on some support boards, but no one seems to be in favor in modifying the program. Personally, on training days, I don't feel I'm getting enough nutrition for the amount of work I'm doing. If anyone knows of a good way to modify on training days, please let me know!

Honestly, if you are training you need more calories. That is a NO BRAINER.
What about just adding another shake or bar? And you should not be working out heavily on cleanse days, so make sure you're not doing that.
Also, making sure your meal is high-nutrient is key. If you're training heavily for a weight competition or marathon, etc you're going to need to increase your calories simply because your body needs more! The thing about Isagenix, is really, you can customize it to your needs and still get results as long as you're following the basic idea of the program.

I have a few friends that are in the " business", I'm not into network marketing at all. It's 300.00 p/month or 10.00 a day. I started using it because I have poor eating habits and travel a lot for work so I eat crap because it's convenient. This system is easy, costs the same as subway, less than MacDonalds but controlled calorie intake. I cycle between my use of isagenix and normal eating. I usually do at least two cleanse days to get me back on track. After about two weeks, junk is outta my system and I'm back to eating healthy regular meals again. It's better than slim fast or instant breakfast and costs about the same. It doesn't taste fantastic, but I've tasted worse. Find a consultant and get a sample to try. I honestly feel better when I do follow it.

So can I just use the shake as one meal replacement per day and the rest of the day just eat healthy and within calories? Will that help me lose weight? I'm not looking to lose a ton too fast.....may be 10 lbs by Christmas......I don't want to commit to a 30 day cleanse because of the effort (no fruit or coffee for 30 days???) and because of the cost.....thoughts?

    Ugh, this was necro'd.

I would also like anyone reading this necro thread and considering this program to see the sign up dates and amount of posts for people showing support of this program. Most signed up the same month they posted, and their only or few posts are in this thread. That is suspicious. Buyer beware.

It's an easy, full nutrition, meal replacement system. Not magic beans, or a cure all. It helps people lose weight, but that said, it's like everything else in the world and not for everybody. I tend to suspect that those that gained all their weight back perhaps did not stick with clean, low calorie/fat, healthy food choices. Or at least not consistently. I'm no perfect angel but I do try to chose lesser of evils when making less than perfect choices. To me, life is all about moderation. Don't eat or drink too much. Walk a minimum of 30 minutes per day (not just for your waistline, but mostly your heart). And most of all, read labels and make your own choices. It works for me but it's not for everyone. I tried ww, Adkins, slim fast, etc etc and they didn't work for me. I figured at the time, all I could do was try it like everything else I already had. It's helped me reach my goals and I do feel better overall. My Fitness Pal and a good kitchen food scale has also really helped me to keep honest about what my intake is. One thing I learned from ww was even licking the spoon counts ;)
