I'm a mother of 4 little ones, 2 cats, 2 dogs and wife to one handsome man. I have always put their needs before my own and now its time I get myself back into shape so that I can have more quality time with them. I am glad my friend turned me onto this site because it's been a big help in keeping track of what I eat and how much I eat.
I am going to join the YMCA in Feb. so that I can workout, hubs can enjoy the pool and the kids can enjoy fun activities all while I lose a bit of weight (more then a bit, but you get it, right?).
I am making lifestyle changes that will be maintained over the course of my life span and things I can share with my children. I have done diets before and they don't work so I figured it was time to get it right. Sure it's slow going but already I have taken out pop, sugar (except for baking), bleached flour and I am working on getting rid of the white bread, adding more fruits and vegi's and drinking lots more water.
So that's my plan, "Get healthy and maintain it for my kids & hubby"!

"We can't take care of our families if we can't take care of ourselves." (my grams used to tell me that all the time & she is sooo right)0 -
Hi from Virginia :-) One important thing to remember is to take good care of your family you need to take care of yourself first!! Make time for yourself and include one indulgence a week- even if it's just a bubble bath or thirty minutes with a good book. Good luck and God bless.0

BTW my ticker reflects my weight loss journey that started in March of 2010 (during that time I was pregnant with my now 3 month old little girl). I didn't gain any weight while pregnant with her but lost (which was a first for me since I gained 30 with each baby I had - lost those pounds with all but the one before this last one).
I started out at 305 lbs and now I am at 273.50 -
I'm a little south of Boise/Meridian (but not as far south as Kuna!)
Someone started a MFP Group for folks in Idaho!
