I tend to switch up which of the below I toss in, but this morning was:
1 banana
frozen strawberries
frozen pineapple
2 carrots
2-3 cups spinach
2 Tbsp chia seeds
I swap in other stuff when I have it:
Apples
frozen mango, cherries, or raspberries
chard
kale (sort of strong flavor)
My husband really likes ginger in his, but I don't care for the taste.
Have fun! And post your favorite combos!0 -
I don't do most of the 'strange' smoothies, just ones that we've put together that hit the spot.
1 frozen banana
handful spinach (can't taste it, just makes the smoothie green & gives nutrients)
1 cup milk
1-2 drops peppermint extract
sweeten to taste (we use artificial sweetener, but you can use agave/honey)
Tastes like a shamrock shake to me! But it has a fruit and a veggie!
1 cup of pure OJ (this is too sweet & acidic for me so I do half and half with water/ice. But depends on your preference)
1-2 oz frozen peach
1-2 oz frozen mango
We buy bananas all the time and if we notice them getting too brown, we'll chop them up and freeze them for smoothies. Everything else we get from the Dollar Store frozen section (you get 3-4 servings of 100% fruit for $1!)0 -
Avocado, frozen cherries, spinach (or kale), almond milk, and a dash of cocoa!0

Smoothies are great, I usually have one for breakfast every day (so feel free to look at my diary for ideas)
My favorite ones have been pumpkin pie smoothie
- 1 c almond milk
-120 g nonfat vanilla greek yogurt
-30 g vanilla protein
-1.5 tsp cinnamon
-.5 tsp nutmeg
-.5 cup pureed pumpkin
-Half a frozen banana
And a tropical smoothie
-1 c unsweetened coconut milk
-Half a frozen banana
-120 grams fatfree vanilla yogurt
-140g (1 cup) frozen pineapple
-1 scoop strawberry protein
Or, personal favorite, chocolate coffee smoothie!
-1 c chilled coffee
-2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
-120g fat free vanilla yogurt
-Whole frozen banana
-1/4 tsp nutmeg
-2 tsp cinnamon
- 28g chocolate protein powder
You can add spinach to bulk up any of them, sub in cottage cheese for higher protein, get rid of the bananas to lower calories (although you'll have to add ice cubes and you will lose some of the creamy texture), or try different types of liquid/yogurt
Good luck!0 -
