Am I getting enough calories?

I'm a teacher at three different sites, one high school and two colleges. Because of this I bring my lunch and supper, typically a frozen dinner (Healthy Choice or Smart Ones) a cup of fruit and some Triscuit crackers and cheese. With my meals set up the way they are I usually have under 1300 calories a day (I'm not exercising right now, I just don't have the time). Because of my weight and activity level (light), my calorie goal is 1700 to lose 2 pounds a week. My question is, should I try and make my goal of 1700 or stick at 1300 since it's at least over the minimum of 1200, and hopefully lose the weight a little quicker.
