When measuring your waist, do you measure the smallest part of your midsection? What exactly is your waist?

about an inch above your belly button at the slimmest part of your mid-section.
trust me! that's how i've been taught to do it in the modeling industry.0 -
i measure at my belly button b/c it is the smallest part of my midsection. But obviously the other poster hase more experence. i think as long as you measure the same place every time yyou will see the difference.0

At Curves it is "when you bend to the side" -which is approximately an inch above your belly button I don't mind measuring THERE because when THAT starts going down, I will know I am doing something right! I really can do without a spare tire handing around my middle!0
