How much calories do you think are in these 4 pictures?

This was in a buffet restaurant last week and I was very full after eating all of that but I actually got another 1 scoop of ice cream.
This is how much food I usually eat when going to buffets, and I am not sure if I would feel happy or not since we are going to a buffet restaurant again tomorrow to celebrate someone's birthday. (I just can't help not eating a lot of food especially desserts when on a buffet restaurant since I really like eating  and we don't do it often).

I would say somewhere in the 3000-4000 calorie range.0

How on earth did you manage to finish 6 big plates of food + extra ice cream? I'm baffled, man. :noway:
I mean, it looks delicious, but it's literally twice the amount of food I eat throughout an entire DAY.
You can't possibly be genuinely hungry for all of that, why keep eating if you know it's way too much food? :huh:0 -
5000? Thats a looot of food...:laugh:0

Sometimes logging is a pain in the *kitten*, but we do it because it helps us to know where our calories come from and track what we eat. I think it's pretty rich to take photos and get others to guess your tracking for the day. You can't estimate it yourself because why?0
-
Oh NOM. I'd say 4000 or so.0
-
Don't even bother counting calories when you pig out at a buffet. It's a waste of time. Just get back on track the next day.0
-
Solid 5000. You could have eaten more!
Seriously, when you're at a buffet just enjoy it and forget it. Counting calories there is like counting grains of sand on the beach. When I visit my friends at UConn and eat at a dining hall I'll easily eat 7000+ calories in a meal and I don't even care.0 -

There's a (random) entry in the MFP database that estimates buffets at about 900 cals per plate - I use this, since some of my plates only have a few pieces of sushi, and some have piles of fried rice and honey chicken and all those deep-fried goodies. So it balances out. At that high number of calories, accuracy kind of goes out of the window - there's no way you'll ever fit it into your week or exercise all that off, especially if you keep going back. But it's good to keep logging so you know what you had that day, and so you know why the scale isn't budging.
Good luck on your weight loss!0 -
To be honest, I'm actually quite impressed that you took very small portions of each food. I tend to take too large of portions of too many foods if I eat at a buffet.0

I don't see any beer. Pint glasses are not exclusively used for carbonated alcohol drinks. Second pic has water in it.0 -
that looks gross, got to be around 5000 or so0
-
Wow that's why I don't go to buffets. I could never eat enough to make it worth while. The last one I went to was a chinese where you order dishes rather than just dig in, oh and I have been to a carvery.0

That water must have been really dirty to leave a film on the glass in the last picture...0
