Cons of Losing Weight

Add your own !

- Some plus size clothes are a lot cuter than normal size clothes
- "Whoops, looks like I can't join you on this roller coaster on which I didn't want to go on in the first place" no longer works
- You can't use your stomach as a makeshift table when you're on your laptop sitting in the recliner
- Looking younger than you really are (which in my case is bad, because I'm 23 going on 17 in terms of looks as it is)

Nope. No downsides for me yet. And I curious to know what store(s) you shop at where the plus sizes are cute, let alone cuter than the others.

Loose skin for sure! Everything else about losing weight is great, but the loose skin is going to kill me!

I'm going to throw away most of my closet.
Related - buying new clothes - super fun if you are not a broke uni student.
Related again - until I can afford new clothes, I have to walk around in my 'it's still kinda decent' fat clothes, which is not flattering.
I can rarely finish my meal at a restaurant and I hate paying for something I didn't eat.
At some point I started noticing development of feelings and thoughts similar to ED patterns - being obsessive about calories, guilt after eating and so on.
Intolerance to some types of food you used to love.
This is all I can remember at the moment but I'm sure there's more. Also, being healthy and looking good is worth it...mostly.

    I agree 100%!!!
  • Getting unwanted attention from men. Some are delighted by all the attention when they are looking super hot and I can't say it isn't an ego boost once and awhile but I felt a little uncomfortable in my own skin when I started to notice more stares etc. It's probably one subconscious reasons I self-sabotage when I hit a certain weight point.

This morning I rolled out of bed to let the dogs out, opened the door and got a blast of 37 degrees wind. 60 pounds ago, I would have thought "hmm, breezy" and went out to enjoy the crisp morning. Now? Good thing my daughter was upstairs and couldn't hear what I was saying between shivers. Winter is going to suck....

It's not really a con, but I have so much more confidence now, it's hard for me to narrow down choices when I go clothes shopping.

Loose skin obviously and also it is not as comfortable sitting down especially on hard seats as it hurts my now bony *kitten*... wouldn't swap it back to what I was though.

The only "downside" (and I say that in quotes because I'm really thrilled that I've lost enought that this happens) I've had are my rings slipping off.

    I second this.
  • Buying new pants. I HATE shopping for pants. It's so dreadful. Also having to pay for new clothes. I'm just going to get a few necessities at the thrift store until I get to my goal weight. I also lost my pants while getting off of the bus the other day. Thankfully I was wearing a baggy hoodie. It was half embarrassing and half cool because they were my pants from my freshman year of high school (7 years ago)

^^ This one for me. I used to be thinner and then changed jobs into the ag industry where I work with only men and have mostly male customers. The unwanted attention almost made me quit my job. Instead I turned to food and gained the 60 lbs I lost plus 60 more. Now, 7 years later, I am half way to taking it back off again and still get uncomfortable about it. Men I only see at harvest comment about it, or compliment me for my hard work or even ask advice on how to do it themselves. I should feel proud about it but it still makes me feel very uncomfortable.

Also constantly shopping for new clothes gets expensive. And I don't want to spend money on anything too nice that I will just have to get rid of again soon. Annoying.

I love to cook and bake... I love to experiment with foods/ingredients, and I love to feed people. Can't really do that anymore. I have to watch the calories too closely now.
Some of my heavier friends avoid me now. Hurts my feelings because I am the same person just a few pounds lighter.
    WRINKLES! Ugh...

    > Loose/jiggly skin
    > having to buy new clothes (I'm poor x-x)
    > people saying things like "you're evaporating!" which makes everyone scrutinize you *major blushing*...
    > people being jealous and hateful about your weight loss
    > not being able to eat cheap junk anymore without your stomach being very upset with you
    > I can't carry the baby on my hips as well since the fat is disappearing there

That's all I can think of right now

Yup. Sex drive was always high, but as I start to feel better, it is just goes through the roof. And it comes up at the worst times, hah
