I think I am finally ready to crack down and lose this baby weight. I've got 46 lbs to lose. My husband is currently on his weight loss path. He's lost just over 20 lbs, thus far. I've got to catch up. Any tips anyone can give me would be great. I'm going to try out this calorie counter and hopefully, I'll be able to start working out soon. Got the YMCA membership, but need to find time to go. Work and kids leave little time. I'm 37 and the weight doesn't come off as fast as it once did. Any support groups out there for 35 and older women, with kids, that work full-time? Tell me of your successes.

I am not part of the group you are looking for but just wanted to Congratulate you on doing this.

It is really hard to find the time for yourself but your family will be so happy that you did. I feel horrendously guilty when I walk out the door to go to the YMCA!!! Sometimes I leave dirty dishes and instructions that they better be clean when I get home! :blushing: LOL! What kind of mother does that???

Well, a healthy mother does. One who can run and play with her kids. One who isn't too tired to do fun things!:flowerforyou:

By taking this time you be will be a greater blessing to your family than if you just keep pouring yourself out to them.

Hope you find some people who are similar to you.

If you don't get replies, post again with a Topic title of " 30+ mother with full time job, looking for support". Others will chime in!!

Again, Congratulations on taking this first really important step!!

Congrats on starting a path to a healthy you. i have two kids and it was hard to lose the baby weight but you need to understand that the process is slow and to be patient. you need to eat healthier. I do the abs diet cause it makes me eat healthier and one meal a week i can cheat so i wont deprive myself and cave in. I do workout dvd cause they are convinient especially if you work. my fave are jillian michaels 30 day shred, 6week 6pk, shredding it with weights and yoga slimdown. they are about 30 min long and cheap in walmart or target around $12-9. her other two dvd blast fat boost metabolism and no more trouble zone are great too but they are longer so if you have more time i recommend them too. I started to increase my collection with turbo jam, chalean extreme and insanity are my fav too. but whatever you like. also running is the cheapest and easiest workout. feel free to add me for support.

Good Luck to you on this journey! I am very excited for you that you didn't wait as long as I did!:flowerforyou:

MY "baby" is 18 and I'm just beginning to work on that baby fat thing! Didn't realize how out of control I was until I started looking at pictures of myself from before I had her. She was my "afraid of turning 30" child. I had NO idea how much change there was going to be to my metabolism! :noway:

First thing I would like to suggest is -find a current picture of yourself that reminds you of why you are embarking upon this journey and post it as your profile picture. :grumble: EVERY day I log in I have to look at the picture that horrifies me the most -it REALLY helps keep me focused!

 You CAN do this! I wish I would found MFP a LONG time ago!
