Congrats for using common sense and pulling out of that dangerous "diet". How else can you feel but crappy when taking in 500 cals/day? :happy:0 -
That sucks that you had a bad reaction to it. Are you doing the drops or injections? I'm actually on it now and it's my 4th day. (2nd if you don't count the binge eating days) I'm doing the injections who I got thru a doctor. I think everyone has a different reaction to the diet and it also depends on if your doing homeopathic drops or not. Yesterday my first day I was on it, I did get a headache, but today I'm fine. I take two multivitamins and even use Shakeology with it, which my dr recommended, but then again his protocol is different from the 500. I do the HCG injections and eat anywhere between 500-800 cal w/ 20-30 min excerise and the food choices he gives me are pretty awesome. It's really all about eating foods from w/ low glycemic.0

I have successfully done 2 rounds with the injections from my doctor also and lost 38 pounds between last July and Last October.
I have kept the pounds off and I adhered to the original protocol (The 500 calorie Simeons Protocol as written in the manuscript), had lots of energy, slept better and even exercised daily on it.
It is all about eating low glycemic foods and making sure you eat very clean!!
I have also found that most people that say they were tired and had no energy where not eating enough vegetables.
I ate endless amount of veggies from the list of approved foods and never felt better!!0 -
I don't understand how one can have the energy to exercise after only consuming 500 cals a day. That is really baffling to me.The HCG diet sounds scary to me.0

The HCG mobilizes the fat so you are burning way more calories than 500 that you are consuming, so the fat burning is where the energy is coming from.
I felt no hunger, had loads more energy and felt FANTATSIC!!!!
I walked my dogs everyday for a 2 mile walk and then went to the gym for yoga classes.0 -

I Did the tablets that I got from a Med spa. I guess if i stuck with it maybe but also I couldnt really run on it and running is my saving grace so it wasnt really for me. I hope all goes well for you0 -
I'm not an expert, but wouldn't you lose weight on 500 cal a day even without the injections? Is the point of hcg to give you energy to function on that amount of calories? It sounds scary and it sounds like you would need the hcg forever. Once you go back to life without it, you would not survive on that low of calories, so what do you do then? I hope it works for people but I am not convinced its the long lasting way to get thin and stay thin and healthy.0

You would initially lose weight without the injections............However, you would lose major muscle mass and not be able to sustain without major, major hunger..........
With the injections, the HCG starts using your fat and utilizes the stored vitamins, minerals and other nutrients to burn so your body becomes a fat burning system.
The injections are only used during the weight loss phase.............after this you go to Phase 3 which is the stablization phase where you eat anything you want, except NO sugar or starch for 3 weeks. This is where your Hypothalamus gets reset and stabilizes at the new weight set.
After Phase 3 you up your calories and your eating by slowly re-introducing some sugar and starch back into your eating. Most times by then you are so used to clean eating that your body doesn't want the sugar, but adding back in sweet potatoes was a nice treat.
i have kept off 38 pounds lost since October 2010.0
