Fertility Medications and Weight Gain

Hello! I'm on my 4th day of taking Clomid for the first time and I've noticed an 8 pound increase in the scale this week! Yikes!! I've been eating the same as usual, the only day I went over on my calories it was only over by 200, and I have a 1000/day deficit. I'm drinking enough water, under my sodium goal, etc. I've been working on weight loss since September, so I know what I'm doing, and I'm perplexed at this sudden gain--I know I certainly didn't eat enough to gain 8 pounds! Has anyone else ever noticed weight gain with Clomid? Does it go away? Today was my weigh in day and I don't want to record the increase if it's just temporary due to the medication, you know?

yes, for most there is a weight gain with fertility medications. your hormones have quite a bit of control in your weight. as far as it going back down, it will drop again when you are off clomid. treat this like you got yourself a new scale. this is start number for any future weight loss.0
