We are all motivated by getting in better shape, better health, better body, our family, ect. But recently I found what really motivates me...... FLIRTING!!! :glasses: Now that I am half way to my goal and feel more confidant it feels great to flirt, and motivates me to look even better, especially with warm weather coming.
What motivates you???

Well, I just wanna be able to wear sexy clothes and feel... sexy!:blushing:0 -
Oh damn. I support and approve of your motivation, ladies. Trampy flirting? I'm with it. Haha.0

I want to get fit, to be able to run or walk without losing my breath or taking rests, but most importantly, to control my insulin resistance (which I actually did a couple of months ago, although briefly)0

I get really motivated every time I see someone who has transformed themselves from flubby to ripped. Heck, just seeing fit and healthy looking people in general does it; they didn't have to be fat in the first place. Then I look in the mirror, see a little progress, and that's also motivation to keep on going.
edit: also, when I run into someone I haven't seen in a while they're like "did you lose weight? you look great!" Man, there's just nothing better than that.0 -
Looking at the pictures i took to use as my before pictures....GROSS!!! Definatly NOT the way i want to look!!!0

Athletes motivate me. Most people like to look at models in magazines and say they want to be skinny. I think that skinny girls are pretty but girls with athletic and fit bodies are sexy, and that's my goal!!0

Confidence! I walk with more confidence, I stand taller, I make more eye contact with others. I run a lot of community meetings and feel much more comfortable and confident in front of people. I just like the way I feel inside when I'm happy with my outside.0

Feeling sexy... even after I look in the mirror.0

my motivation:
I live 10 hours away from my family and only go to visit in the summers (and Christmas when possible).
I have been between 220 & 250 for the last 5 years - I was 219 this Christmas. I want to go home this summer at 165 and stun everyone....
that and make my father eat his words - when last summer I told him I lost 30 lbs - his response was - really? You must have found them all, cause I can't tell...... Ouch.0 -
RESULTS!!0

Since I've been on this weight-loss thing my entire life (meaning I've tried and failed a gazillion times), I know there's really nothing out there that motivates me for any length of time. So this final time, and for the rest of my life, the thing that is motivating me to stick with it- pure, mule-headed stubbornness! :devil:0

When I look in the mirror, I notice a difference.
Also, our wedding anniversary is in June. I want to be skinny for it0 -

Guys.
And I don't mean like "omg i want a boy to like me, boo hoo". For some reason, when I see bodies like Wu Chun, Brian Joo, Shannon Kook-Chun, etc, etc, it makes me want to workout more because I like the look of them even though I'm a girl, ahaha. I can look at girls with bodies I really like but I never think "Well, this is going to make me work out!" unlike looking at a male's body. I don't want to look as bulky as them (and I doubt I ever could hahaha) but yeah. xD
I might be weird or something, oh well, hahahaha.0 -

Rude! Men just don't get it sometimes. Especially dads. lol....My dad learned real quick to keep his big mouth shut about my weight.0 -
I want to be more confident, so losing weight motivates me. Also, getting a new, smaller wardrobe is another motivation.0

I agree - when I am at the gym, I always make sure there is a sports channel on while I do my cardio - when I get lazy (or want to quit) I watch the athletes on the television and remind myself of their training and dedication (well, except for the bowling that's on sometimes....)0 -
Recently turning 40. A really got motivated a couple years ago when I heard whatever fitness level you are at you are at 40 is mostly where you will stay from there out or worse. So I trained and ran a half marathon to celebrate.0

Wow. That is depressing. I am 43 and fat. Does it mean there is no hope for me???? Hope not.0 -

When I was in the Army & looked my best I got kicked out of the PX for wearing too short shorts. My proudest moment.:devil:0 -

As conceited as it sounds, what really motivates me is me. I say it because I can, and who's really gonna argue the fact that I believe I am the best me I can be? So, I motivate myself to be better than myself. I could get into the philosophical arguments I've conducted in my own mind, but that's about the best way I can put it. I put my extreme self-confidence to its purposeful use.0

MIRROR!!! :-(
Yeah, mirror0 -
Old pictures is what motivates me.
My old army ones, and old bad ones. Knowing I looked that good and can do it again and knowing if I don't keep up the good work it can all to to hell .0 -
My husband He's fast, but I run farther. He's stronger, but I can do it longer. He works out hard, but I work out every day  We are so competitive and I know it sounds awful. When I work out with him, I work harder to be stronger, to be faster and just be better in every way. He's supportive in everything I do and I try to do the same for him. I Iove him so much0
