Hi All, I live in Southeast Louisiana, and yesterday we started our treck to my husband's family in East Texas. We arrived safely, but this is all too surreal at the moment. We lost EVERYTHING in Katrina three years ago, and now we have two extra children to care for and worry about. Please keep us in your prayers.

On a nutritional note, I stocked up on some South Beach Deli Meals, brought protein bars, and shakes and hope to stay on track. I gained 15 pounds in a month due to Katrina and emotionally eating, but I vow to keep up my hard work. It may be hard, my in laws cook a lot of fried, heavy food, but I will hopefully be able to eat my seperate meal, without offending them too much. Unfortunately, I already got a, "Are you still eating cardboard?" comment. Oh, well, I feel fantastic....went for a run this morning and will continue while I am away from my gym in my town. Maybe I'll call the local gym here and plead my case; B/c, with Katrina we didn't return home for nearly a month. I would go crazy by then.

Thanks for listening...any fellow evacuees?

Good for you bringing some of your own foods. My family eats all that fried food too & when I visit I usually always take my own stuff. I used to worry about hurting their feelings but then I realized that it's better to take care of myself & hope they would understand that. Hope all turns out well for you & you will be back home soon!
