South Beach

Anyone around here do South Beach? I've had a lot of success with it in the past and kept weight off for years following it but over the past year I totally stopped even caring and gained 25 pounds. I'm back on the wagon and wondering if anyone else is.

how bout you get off "diets" that will fail time and time again and you just start learning to eat better!.. trust me I know0

Good luck. I Think the South Beach "diet" can teach you to eat for life to a point where it is no longer a "diet." If that makes sense.0

Hello,
I am glad that the south beach worked for you. I bought the books a few years ago but never actually tried it.
I am going on a "carb fast" for a bit fro today. Although it is simple to stay under daily cals eating lots of carbs, removing them is probably going to show more physical results as the scales go down.
Good luck this time around. Stick with what works for you and don't listen to those who poo-poo your ideas!0 -
Sad to say that doesn't work for everyone. But I am glad it has worked for you, ShreddingIt!0

You are so right. It is a piece of cake to stay under calories eating lots of carbs. One of the reasons why WW never worked for me in the past. I agree--its those gosh darn CARBS! Hate them!0 -
My husband and I were both very successful with the South Beach Diet when we did it, but when we stopped all the weight came back. What we liked about South Beach was the initial loss of about 13 pounds in 2 weeks and then steady loss after that. What I didn't like about it was all of the restrictions. So when my husband said he wanted to go back on South Beach I was hesitant. I wanted a way to eat better but not have any restrictions on what we could or could not eat. I stumbled upon this website and am so happy. I have been here for about 3.5 weeks and have lost 11 pounds so far. I even talked my husband into watching calories with me and he has lost about 8 pounds too. I keep to my calorie goals, exercise an hour a day five days a week and feel great! I would suggest skipping South Beach and just eating healthy.0

Me too! WW never worked for me either. Not even a bit.0

Actually eating better does work for everyone because it's not a diet it's a lifestyle change. My cousin did South Beach diet a few years ago and she lost weight but gained it all back when she allowed carbs back into her life. Every personal trainer and nutritionist will say it's a lifestyle. Best of success in what you choose.0
