I only joined this site a couple of weeks ago an already ive lost nearly 2kgs, which is a big deal for me, because i have never really lost weight beffore, i only get bigger and bigger.
tracking my food and exercise and trying to stick to that goal is great motivation! I love it. The only problem is if i do happen to go over my calorie goal (ive only done that twice, once when i was sick and another at a party) i feel terrible about myself and i get awefully depressed.
Does anyone know any great exercises to do in the pool? i get bored with swimming laps all the time

Try putting on some music and "dancing" ... you'd be surprised how difficult that is! Also they sell "weight sets" for pools, which are nothing more than Styrofoam in the shape of dumbbells and what not, they're good for resistance training, but really get your heart pumping too!

Hey Maddy. Good on ya for the weight loss.
I swim regularly as part of my training (Triathlons), and though it is great for cardio and strength it is not a good weight loss tool. There is a lot of great reading available on this but it comes down to some mammalian responses in the body. In other words, our genetic coding is such that when we get cold, as in water, the body tends to hold on to fat to keep us warm. Also read up on the mammalian diving reflex, same sort of deal.
However, if you really want to be in the pool, I recommend getting some pool sneakers and literally running laps in the water. You will be shocked how difficult this is.0
