my sugar goal is 24g, and Ive been going over everyday...
I'm not adding sugar to anything I eat, I think it's mostly coming from fruit...
should I be concerned? I know fruit is okay, but I haven't lost weight in a week and I'm wondering if this is why

  • 24g of sugar is a pretty low limit if you consume fruit. One apple will basically put you at your limit for the day! Eat unprocessed foods, stuff like Oats have no sugar at all, so you can make up for your sugar intake from fruit, by not having it in the rest of your foods.

That said, sugar from fruit is better than refined sugar. But it is still sugar and must be taken in moderation, so don't eat fruits every waking moment of the day.

Hi there. There were a few recent posts with this exact question just yesterday and Sunday. Search around a bit. Here's one with some pretty good answers to this exact question.

    Good luck! : )

  • Everything I read says that weight loss is based on calories in vs. calories burned. It doesn't matter where those calories come from. If you're not losing or gaining weight, and you are eating regularly (not starving yourself), then your lack of weight loss is probably coming from the lack of a caloric deficit.
  • Calories in vs. Calories out is most of the equation, but definitely not all of it. Sugar can influence your ability to lose/gain weight, as can carbohydrates.
  • I am DEFINITELY burning more calories than I eat, by like 500/day.
I've been watching calories, fat and sugar mostly.
