So here's the skinny: I get up at 4am to go and get my workout in. I'm usually to my destination by 4:30am. What should I eat or drink to get my body the energy it needs to get a good workout in? A protein shake with banana blended in? Or something simple like an apple? What about a carbohydrate gel? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

  • ive always been told to get up an hour before you go to the gym and eat a real breakfast. so eat some yogurt, berries and eggs lay back down or something then go work out... within an hour of your workout drink water and whey protein to help rebuild your muscles and burn fat.

I'd go with the banana shake. My trainer recommends I eat one before working out and I noticed the tennis players at the tourney this week eating them between games.
