Gain?

So, I have been doing pretty well. Exercising everyday, watching what I eat, sure...I still need to work on drinking enough water daily, but all in all...I've been pretty proud of myself and my effort.
I lost 7.4 pounds in the first fifteen days using MFP.
Well, my next weigh-in is tomorrow. I stepped on the scale this morning for a sneak-peak, and I had gained a whole pound back!!! Is it muscle? I'm not really strenght training...just lots of cardio...so muscle in my legs, maybe? Water weight? Ugh...I do NOT want to log a whole pound BACK onto my report!!! It'd be one thing if I simply hadn't lost anything, but a gain is killing me!
Help! Support, motivation, reassurance...something, guys!

weight fluxuation is typical and you shouldn't worry about it. A 3-6 pound fluxuation is nothin uncommon, one pound won't really make a difference. It is most likely water weight especially if you tried drinking more water in the past day.0

Thanks for the encouragement. It's still really disheartening though, isn't it?0

I know how you feel it happens to me also, it could be water or idk but dont get discouraged! I dont log any gains i just wait until the next weigh in. I would always get down on myself when that happens and want to give up but ive managed to push myself through it and if i can you can i'm sure! weighing in at the same time of day might help a little also.0

Do not allow ONE POUND to rob you of your joy. Ever. Here's a great article on what the scale is weighing:

Remember, the scale is only ONE tool. Use all the tools at your disposal to give you the most accurate guage of your progress.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I agree. Weigh yourself at the same time of day. I have taken to weighing myself in the morning before I get in the shower. I have no clothes on to add to my weight and my stomach is empty. How much more "just me" can you get? Those factors are why I hate getting weighed at the doctor's office. I always feel so fat when I see my weight on that scale, not that the number at home is much better. And, they are right. Don't weigh yourself too frequently. Those random days when you are miraculously down 3 pounds put a huge smile on your face. But it isn't really worth it when you get those days when you see weight gain or no progress at all. That is enough to depress me. Just get satisfaction from the long-term loss and the fact that you are being healthier. :flowerforyou:0

d00d. It's a pound. You can be five pounds lighter after leaving the Throne Room. Don't sweat it.
As a bit of an aside: scales can fluctuate depending upon the heat in the room, humidity, and so on.
Also also: That amount of weight loss v. time passed is pretty decent. It tends to slow after the beginning. But keep at it!0
