So im seriously thinking about getting the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, and im wondering if someone very out of shape can do it and do I have to do other workouts too with it like walking for cardio or more strength training? I had intentions of continuing to work on my abs and arms if they are not too sore after her dvd. What do you recommend?

It is a lot of cardio! 3 minutes weights, 2 minutes cardio, 1 minute abs! Repeats 3 times! It has modifications in it & I would for sure suggest it! I am on Level 2 Day 3 right now!0

When I first tried the 30 day shred I was completely out of shape but I managed to get through it. It's a tough and challenging workout but the good thing about her DVDs, no matter which you happen to do, she has modified versions of each move that she does. I think if you do the modified versions and take it slow you'll be just fine. If you can't get through the entire routine the first time you try it, don't stress over it. Do as much as you can and then the next day try to push a little further. It'll get easier as you get used to it.0

I was out of shape when I started level one and I got better. I just started level two and I feel outta shape again! buh! but it really is a good work out. Some people don't do other workouts too but I do. I don't do the shred everyday. sometimes back to back days but mostly every other day. I also do Insanity, Tae-bo, and just general tredmil (gym) workouts. I don't like to let my body get used to any one thing. Do what is comfortable to you. The first day will suck but It WILL get easier! Good Luck0

I just tried it for the first time this past Saturday and I am just now moving normal again, lol. I am 209 pounds and very out of shape. It's a 20 minute video and I was able to net 15-16 minutes of it. It looks so easy but I definately suggest that if you need to take a rest you do for a few seconds. Make sure you start out with small weights ( I have 3 pound weights) and a mat. Good luck!!0

I just got done with Level 1 Day 1. It is a good workout. I used to workout alot but got out of the habbit and am just now trying to get back into it. I really want to do P90X but I know I am so not ready for that yet. One thing I really like about 30DS is that it is less than 30 minutes. I should have no excuse not to do this at least every day. Since the strength training is not as bad as what I used to do I think my muscles can handle everyday. I just got a HRM and according to that I burned 220 calories. Not to bad and I am excited to do it again. However, I am considering doing something else today as well. Do to weather conditions I am working from home today, so I did 30DS on my lunch. Time to hit the shower and then get logged back into work.0

Do it! It is a butt kicking workout. I just talked a friend who is about 50 lbs overweight into doing it and she loves it. Anyone can do it. It's only 20 mins! I did Level 1 for 7 days and just moved into Level 2 yesterday. It hurts but you feel amazing after it's over!0

Its doable! The 1st time I did it I had to stop about 15 minutes in, but the next time I did great. But I will say it is kinda hard on the joints! Let me know if you decide to do it.0

I love it! Now, I'm only on Day 7 of Level 1, but I plan to definitely continue. After the first 4 workouts I was SOOOOO sore. I work in the ER, so I'm always moving around quite a bit..those 4 days were miserable; however, if you're sore..its working, right? I know I've only been doing it for a week, but I can already tell a difference in my stamina and muscle endurance.
I have a feeling after I finish 30DS, I'm gonna be going back for more of Jillian.
Good Luck0 -

You can get it anywhere. I've seen it at Walmart and Target. About 10 bucks.0

I started 30DS but had a back injury (nothing to do with the DVD) so haven't been able to carry on. Am hoping to do day 2 tonight, however am seriously considering starting from Day 1 again..... I really recommend it.0
