I have decided today to start the 30 day shred program. I started this once before and didn't finish it. I want to get back into shape, and start to see the numbers on the scale finally decline rather than stay the same or increase, so today is the first day of my workout, I will be doing that tonight because I am at work and my goal is to do it everyday until March 2nd. It is only 20 min surely I can find time to do that. Wish me luck and any words of encouragement or motivation are always appreciated. If anyone wants to friend me during this process please feel free to do so, We all need eachother in our quest to our lifestyle changes.

I'll be glad to join you in this challenge/goal.
  • I started the Shred about 20 days ago. I've only missed about 4 days in the last 20 days due to sickness. It's a quick hard work out that really gives results!! I just started level 3 today. It's hard and kicks your butt!! I wish you luck!! Keep us posted on your progress!
  • I started the 30 day shred today, in hopes to complete it in 30 days. Good Luck!!
  • I'd love to, but I have horrible knees, and the 30 Day Shred is torture on my knees! I can tolerate level one, but after that, it's agony! It's a great workout - Good luck!
  • Good luck...I hope that you are able to complete your goal and also see the results in the end

Thanks for all the replies. I will let everyone know how it progresses. I can't do my couch25k program because the weather has been to bad to go to the gym so I have to do something. I figure by combining the two I should definately see results:smile:
  • I'm going to start this on Sunday I think. I'm going out of town for my Anniversary prior to, and I know that afterwards I'm going to be ready to jump on this! I'll be anxious to hear what you think about it!

I've started it before just never got more than 4 days into it. It is a real workout, and you feel it afterwards. Good luck with starting

It's actually a DVD you can buy at Walmart or Target for $10-$12. It's a workout program that is in 3 levels that are about 28 min each. The goal is to do it everyday for 30 days. It is called "Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. Google it and it should give you basic information. Hope this helps.
  • Thank YOU! Good Luck in reaching your goal and I will definitely google it to see if I get motivated as well. Have a great week!
  • I may take you up on that as well. I've done it before but didn't sick with it - it is a kick your butt 20 minutes! i have hardwood floors and just bought myself a padded floor mat so my knees and hands don't ache after. Not sure if I can do it everyday since I started twice a week kickboxing but I will try to do it on my off days. :D

i just recieved my copy in the post today starting mine tomorrow good luck we can do it
  • I too had started it however I have decided to set it aside for a couple weeks so I can get a little more prepared for it. I have not exercised in years and just though it may be better to start off with getting back into the exercise mode as this DVD is a GREAT yet EXTREME workout even at level one, especially if you have not exercised in a long time.
I wish you tons of luck and look forward to reading about your success.
I will start my post in 2 to 3 weeks when I go ahead with the 30 day shred.

    GOOD LUCK!

You are correct, I wouldn't do this if you haven't been doing something on a reg basis it is very intense. I even have to do the modified version and some of the exersises I have to modify even further. I look forward to hearing about your journey as well. Thanks for the words of encouragement.
  • I did this today and I was wondering...How do you post this in your exercise diary?

Ok so Day one was completed and I feel really good today. Not nearly the muscle soreness I felt the first time I did this. Call me crazy but I like feeling a little sore after a workout tells me I actually worked something. I have told people on here, at work and my family at home about what I am doing so that I am accountable for it. I have even written my goal date on the calander. I can do this, If I can run a 5K I can do this. And I do plan on getting back to my running once Mother Nature decides to have a hot flash again. And the temp gets above 45 degrees. I feel that this is going to be a huge help in my running and I should be able to pick up some speed, especially if I lose 10-15 lbs, at which point once I get back to doing a 5K again I am setting my sites on 8-15K runs after that. I don't think I will be doing a half marathon to me that is really far but you never know.

Let me know how everyone else is doing and keep up the good work, we can do this.

on day one i felt fine too. I was wondering why this was so after reading so many things about the pain. The next morning however
I felt quite sore. Not toooooo bad, but enough to make the workout more difficult. day three still sore. day 4 morning still sore. Tonight I feel good again
