I seem to always be over on protein. Will this cause health problems?

No protein is great for you. I would sit and list all the examples why, but I've done it 4 times already today. Look through this forum, on other topics.
MFP please get a sticky about protein!0 -
The default protein setting on MFP is very low, around 15% of your caloric intake, I believe. Most fitness professionals recommend around 30%, and sometimes more. For example, I do a lot of strength training so I try to get about 40% of my calories from protein, so that I can build muscle. As far as too much protein being harmful, don't worry. Studies have shown that you can consume up to two grams of protein per pound of body weight with no ill effects. Unless you are on a diet that is super rich in protein, I wouldn't worry about it.0

Depends on how much you're over by. If you're regularly into 300+ grams then yes back off but you'd most likely be bodybuilding/strength training and be well aware of what you're doing. Most people never consume enough the estimated target on MFP is a bit on the low side anyway.0

Thanks. I was concerned. I feel much better now.0
