Mix oats, chocolate chips, peanut butter or almond butter (might need to microwave 5 seconds to make it easier to mix) and honey. Mix, then divide into four sections. Press into balls and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (can also be placed in the freezer for a few minutes).

That's like how my protein 'bars' turned out – similar ingredients as well. They are more of a ball since they don't harden the same way commercially processed ones do. I got the recipe from a thread here on MFP and don’t recommend it unless you like eating goo – fortunately I’m ok with it ;)

I read your post and made them before I even left the screen. I cannot wait for them to get firm! JUST what I needed today to satisfy my sweet tooth! Thank you.

What type of peanut butter did you use?

When I make them with PB I use regular Kraft smooth PB and when I make them with AB I use Maranatha Natural AB (no salt, roasted).

Thank you for this. We use to make these peanut balls in school when I was a little girl. This took me way back! I'm going to make them for my kids.
