has anybody else considered calories burned during love making or sex? if so, how have you calculated them into your diary?

.... If you had a heart rate monitor and a partner that wouldn't think you were completely off your head for wearing one in bed...you could find out that way!

Hhahah I actually have considered adding that to my workout routine but its kinda difficult to find a partner lol
  • I go to fitnessmagazine.com and there is a drop down for sex. You then just input your weight and duration and then hit calculate. Hope that helps and as always HAVE FUN

I don't know how accurate these are, but I found this last week while attempting to this very same info. Here is my thread from when I shared it for humor sake. Maybe we should invint a sexy push-up bra with a built in heartrate monitor! Of course that would look rediclous on the guys, but hey sex is funny

    BRILLIANT LOL
  • According to Fitness Magazine:
"Of course, how many calories you burn depends on the duration and, ahem, vigor of the activity. A moderate 20 minutes will burn only about 28 calories, 32 at a more energetic rate -- but you can burn close to 100 calories if the fun lasts for an hour."

just like I don't count grocery shopping as cardio, I also don't figure in sex. It's just something I do all the time, I figure it is counted into my base calorie allowance

"An hour of sex burns 346 calories—the equivalent of a morning jog, weight-lifting session, or even four hours of writing."

That being said, I consider it healthy part of normal life, and therefore I do not include it.

There are several calculators on line that can figure that out for you, then you just plug it into "my exercises" on here. It all depends on how much you put into it, and how long it lasts. Depending on my participation, I don't always count it. And when I do count it, I subtract 5 or so minutes from the actual total so I am not overestimating calories burned. Doesn't add up to much, but every little bit helps!

Oh goodness, an hour. I don't have the energy for that any more. I don't think I burn enough in 5 minutes to ever worry about it.
