I use it sometimes in place of olive or canola oil. Not always, but sometimes. Yes, it's high in saturated fat, but it's actually a healthy saturated fat and can be beneficial. I wouldn't go crazy with it or anything, but it can't hurt to incorporate a little bit of it into your diet.
I have a home-made nutella recipe that uses coconut oil. Very delicious! :bigsmile:0 -
Was actually on the Internet looking for coconut oil capsules. I too read about it helping with weight loss. Am interested in any tips that you get. Thanks for asking the question.0

I cook with it on a regular basis as well as steal a couple of bites straight from the jar. It is delicious and can often quell a sweet tooth!0

I have firned that uses coconut oil for pretty much everything...(cooking, baking, hair, body moisturizer, massages, etc). She has even replaceed butter for coconut oil on her morning toast. She swears by it.... I haven't tried it yet. Let me know how you like it0

I have some. Oil is kind of misleading -- it is only liquid at temperatures over 76F (24C). The package states that the medium chain fatty acids in it stimulate metabolism. I guess you would have to consume it in small quantities because it is calorie-dense. Best of success to you!0

I cook with it often, it is supposed to have a high metobolic affect. It only takes about a teaspoon tho, it liquifies like water, unlike olive oil and such....it never affect my scale or my inches.0

I think that I am going to try it in capsule form...0

I've been cooking with it and eating it from a spoon, using in smoothies, as well as melting it in black coffee, yum! for at least five years. I have read that your body will not release the bad fat unless you give it good fat to replace it with. So, I would say, yes, it helps with weight loss.0

So I ordered Coconut Oil pills from www.puritans.com where I get all my vitamins...We'll give it a shot!0
