  • Are you by chance gearing up for your " monthly visit"? That could cause weight gain of that amount in such a short time

Don't be disappointed; that sounds just like water weight gain to me. Cut back on sodium for a few days and see if it comes off.
  • Dont stress too much. Women's weight does fluxuate. And depending on where you are in your cycle, you're weight can vary as well. You'll probably find that you will lose that 6lbs really quickly now, and it will keep coming off quickly.

    Good luck!

Agree with savvynurse....happens to me every month!
  • ahhh... definitely that time of the month... but i have heard you only may gain up to 3 pounds for that... definitely disappointing to see the scale... especially when you have been working super hard.....

You don't need help. You just need a little patience.
You can easily go up and down 2 pounds on any given day based on what you eat and what you expel. (How's that for putting it nicely?)
I've also noticed that if I eat certain foods, my weight will go up even more (another pound or two) just based on what people like to call "water weight"
Give it 3 days. I'm willing to bet you'll be back down to a normal weight by then.

It happens to me all the time.
Be consistent and honest about your exercise and calorie intake, and the weight WILL come off. It's a numbers game, and it works best over longer periods of time.

It's that time of the month for me too and I'm super scared to weigh in on Friday... I might wait until NEXT Friday... if I see weight gain it will drive me to eat about 6 pancakes... and then the weight gain from that will be totally my fault!
  • I know it sucks to see the number go up, but I agree with larsonp, give it a few days and check again. Are you noticing any changes with how your clothes fit?

If I pair my time of the month with even a *little* extra sodium I can gain 6-7 pounds in a single day without batting an eye. It does go away in 4-5 days, though. Be patient, if you are doing everything right the weight will come off!
